Modern photographs are blended with historic ones, many lost structures are represented some have disappeared over one hundred years ago some have ceased to exist tragically in relatively modern times.The individual events of Morgan's Raid are detailed as thoroughly as one could expect; Factual, anecedotal, and precise travel information are seamlessly blended in a useable and well thought out format. The text is easy on tired eyes, being large and spread out; co driver can assist with navigation much more readily with this tome.

We live about twelve miles from the path taken by Morgan’s Raid. I’m a history buff, and I always wondered about the different events that occurred along the path taken by Morgan and his men. This book offered a concise step by step guide to the activities of the confederate raiders. It describes landmarks ‘ visited’ by the “Thunderbolt of the Confederacy”’and his men. I love that the book not only gives the historical buildings and roads, but also describes modern locations, making it easy to follow each step of the way!

What a detailed book, will be able to follow their path through Ohio for sure. They went within a 1/4 of a mile from where I live. And their camp In Williamsburg was about 5 miles away.
