For sandwiches/drinks/party platters/crafts, these are perfect
These are actually quite impressive given the price point of roughly 7-8 toothpicks for 1 cent, and perfect for things like sandwiches, burgers, drinks, party platters, and crafts. As other reviews have pointed out, if you are looking to clean your teeth you'll probably be better off with dental floss.Added bonus! If you happen to buy an electric lighter for candles, you'll notice that the wick gets frayed pretty quickly. These light instantly and work as a great match alternative if you have an rechargeable lighter.

Good enough for a biology lab
I bought these as a prop for a lab I do in my Biology class for Natural Selection. I used food coloring to dye them, and they worked very well. They are not as robust as other toothpicks, and there were a few broken ones in the box, but not many. They served my needs well. If you plan to use them for crafting you wont be disappointed, if you plan to use them to pick your teeth I would avoid them :)

good for stirring/applying small amounts of inks and dyes; your satisfaction will depend on intended use
I needed some toothpicks for dripping alcohol inks onto metal blanks and dripping resin dyes into resin. I didn't need anything spectacular, just something much smaller than a popsicle stick. These do the job. I dispense a drop of whatever I am using on to the toothpick (it absorbs some of the color, but that's why I got a lot, so I could just throw used ones away, and not feel too badly about it because, as wood, they are biodegradable).I am not sure I would use these to clean between teeth. They seem more designed for craft purposes. I prefer to carry floss picks (that have a little bend-out plastic toothpick) if I need to remove food. These are flat and not round (should be obvious from the product name). These are very inexpensively made and somewhat inconsistent in quality. I suspect whether or not you like them will depend on what your intended use is. I probably wouldn't build a toothpick bridge out of them (we did something like that in elementary school) but if you just need to stir a small bit of colorant or something to a craft or cooking project (these would also work for adding gel food coloring to frosting), they are fine. A few are broken and they are sort of weak if you put a lot of pressure on them, but that is not really an issue for my particular applications. The sizing is a little inconsistent but again, not a problem for me. (Your mileage may vary.)

5 Stars because, apparently, all the other flat toothpicks in the world have totally disappeared!
If you want flat toothpicks, you will either have to purchase these through Amazon.com, or go out and cut down a tree and create your own. Flat toothpicks no longer exist in any store I have searched through -- and I have really, really searched. I've even asked people who own restaurants where they might be found, to no avail. The truth is, every one in the box might not be perfect, but there are 2,500 in the box, and this will serve you for quite some time! I can't imagine how they could be used for crafts, but they do work as toothpicks. Make them special -- dip the end in some toothpaste for a really fresh feeling. Works every time! I can't see the reason for all the negative reviews. Folks, these may be the only flat toothpicks left on Planet Earth, so buy them while you can!! :)

Terrible product! Basically a box of splinters...
For the price, it's not worth the hassle of returning but these are utterly useless. They are splinters trying to pass as toothpicks, and doing a terrible job. Most are crooked, not even being able to hold up to the packaging process. I bought them for crafting, and can't even see a use for that. I shudder to think of anyone actually putting one in their mouth.

"tooth Picks"
These tooth picks are a bit of disappointment. Overall, product lacks the quality control needed to produce a good product. I use them for my teeth (original use for toothpicks) and, since they come some 2500 to a box, I should be able to salvage some. Some are broken but others simply lack consistency in diameter. I do feel sympathy for those who might have ordered them for craft purpose as the lack of standard size may cause some distress. Would recommend the Diamond brand. I would have order them had I been able to find any available in smaller lots. Unfortunately, none of the local stores sell flat toothpicks anymore, so I now have to order on line. Will most certainly seek a different product next time.

Not Uniform
Great for crafting except they are not uniform enough to make precise projects. the round toothpicks work better for uniformity but they are too sharp for kid's crafting. It works fine as toothpicks but cannot get into tight spaces well. Its one of those things that will sit around the house for years to come. Maybe I should have gotten a smaller pack, maybe I should have gotten the round ones, but I'll live with this purchase.

Just What I Wanted
I first got to use this toothpick from a friend's home after we had dinner and I liked it. I know this toothpick is cheap but this fits my requirement. My teeth have developed some cavities and food particles get lodged unto them everytime I eat and become painful if not taken out after each meal. I was using bamboo picks all the time but it's difficult to use at because of its pointed edge pricking my gums. Besides, its round and larger diameter can't pass through small spaces between teeth. This tooth pick is apt for the job. The ends are small enough to reach any point in my teeth while the slim and flat body could squeeze it between them. Just perfect for my needs.
