Nature's Cancer Fighting Foods
I found this is to be a wonderfully informative book. The author has been on a life long quest to unravel the mysteries of the causes of cancer (he lost his mother to cancer when he was a young boy) and the things we do unwittingly to encourage its existence. His goal is to educate. He has reverse engineered a healthy human body and observed what and why that body consumes. The answers are presented in a straight forward manner, with no preaching or scolding. The author is not selling any supplements or health food additives. He presents the information and gives the reader the choices necessary to make changes for the reader's health benefit.

Have this book around -- and refer to it.
This is a book to help you assess the value of what you eat! It explains carb/fats/proteins/phytochemicals/herbs/supplements/acid vs alkaline/sugar danger, so it is well worth having on your shelf. You'll be challenged!!There's a large section at the end with End-Notes, practical advice, lists of Resources, and many recipes and menus.

Great starter book
Really good first book for people trying to figure out if Macrobiotics is something that might work for them. It worked for us! My wife had untreatable stage IV cancer, and multiple doctors agreed she had 6 months to live. After 6 months of following Macrobiotics her tumor vanished and she was cancer free. The news was the best Christmas gift ever! The doctors couldn't believe it was possible.

Somewhat
There is some very good information in "Nature's Cancer-Fighting Foods" and yet, the writing is redundant and scattered. I find this book a good reference for looking through and finding things I might need to re-read. There are some good explanations and yet, not thorough enough for text or study. If a person does have cancer - it would depend on what stage they were in - there are some very good food tips for anyone who suffers from illness and yet, if a person was in the final stages of cancer it may not be of help. Thank you.

YOU TRULY ARE WHAT YOU EAT!
After reading nearly 30 books on nutrition & health, I came upon Verne Verona's 'Nature's Cancer Fighting Foods'. I wish I'd found it first. It encompasses all the information you need in one resource, in an easy to understand manner. I have made remarkable and drastic changes to my health by incorporating the recommendations from this book. Highly recommended.

Promoted on Fraudulent figures: TCH Chemo actually offers over 35% increase in survival rate for my Breast Cancer
I am currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, after surgery, and thus am very interested in doing all I can to fight the cancer that may return. However, it really annoys me to see this author is telling lies about the effectiveness of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy to promote his book. How dare he talk my fellow patients out of having treatments that provably have an excellent chance of extending their lives, just so he can sell more books?Eating the right foods is just as essential whether you have chemo and/or radiotherapy or not. But telling people these therapies are only about 6% effective in fighting cancer is untrue and likely to lead people to make very bad decisions over treatment. I have HER2positive cancer (like about 25-30% of all breast cancers), with no nodes involved. Large studies have shown that women with this sort of cancer who only have surgery have a 45% recurrence rate within 5 years. With a year's TCH Chemotherapy, plus also radiotherapy if having a lumpectomy, the 5yr recurrence rate is under 10%. Sure, 55% would have been fine without any further treatment, but there is no knowing who is safe and who is not. But for over 35% of us, Chemo with or without radiotherapy will give us at least 5 more years, and the rates of recurrence after 5 years become much smaller.
