The American Educational 7-KS-1 single-pole single-throw (SPST) brass knife switch provides students with hands-on experience studying the principles of electricity and circuitry. The SPST switch provides basic on/off capability for a single circuit. The knife-style switch provides stability in handling and visualization of electrical principles. The screw-type binding provides a secure electrical connection. The switch is 1 x 1 x 2 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The set includes 10 SPST knife switches. Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.American Educational Products manufactures learning materials in math, science, and reading/language arts for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The company, founded in 1986, is headquartered in Fort Collins, CO.

Slightly Flimsy, but Good Value
I bought these for an antique-looking electronics project. They look good and work fine. I do have two small issues with these though:1) They are slightly flimsy. Under normal, light use, this isn't an issue. But, if you put any pressure on the clips, they bend out of shape. A couple of these came a bit bent up in the package which isn't a huge issue, but slightly annoying.2) The wire screws strip out so you can't get a rock solid connection. This is easily fixed with a bit of flux and silver solder, but I was expecting something a bit more substantial.

Good value
Those blade switches are a bit cheaply made but they are still milesahead of the little blue disk ones.We use alligator clips jumpers with the kids so it's a bit cramped toconnect to the switch. You can screw in a wire for easier grip with the clips. One of the main values with the kids in using blade switches as this one is thatthe switch looks just like the one on their diagram. Doesn't seem like much butfor a 7-8 years old, it makes a world of difference. Also nice that they come in a 10 pack at a very good price.

Good reliable switches.
Great for teaching electronics. The pins can be bent back into shape if the connection between the lever and poles is loose. Screw hole allows mounting for projects or interactive demonstrations. Hopefully obviously not for industrial, home, or high voltage applications.

Fun Little Switch
Make no mistake, this is a small knife switch about 2" in length but that's just what I needed

These are well-made and look cool
I've used these for projects to lend the steampunk look. They look really retro and "mad scientist." Obviously you only want to use this for low voltage situations. Although you could wire a 120 circuit, don't do it because of the shock hazard. But for 12V and under, it's all good.

Educational single knife thrower
Not what I needed, but can be used for other projects.

Works like a switch should...
A switch is a switch...works great and doesn't get stuck! Kid safe and friendly...meaning they haven't destroyed this yet and it's already been a whole unit!

Love it!
Works great! Used them in an experiment during a science camp for 37 students. Great quality.
