Almost 4 stars!
The special effects in this movie were pretty good. The monster... they did a pretty terrific job.I thought that the story line could have been quite a bit better in quite a few ways.Sometimes this movie's attempts at character development were a *bit* cheesy and over-the-top.(for example, the motorcycle race scene..?)All-in-all, this was a pretty decent movie.Another mild complaint is that the monster was not... consistently deadly throughout the movie... depending on who it was coming into contact with, it seems like. Some characters could fight the monster with hand-held pole-arm style weapons... others just got unlucky and the monster speared their cranium with it's 40-foot-tongue straight through plate-glass built into a door. Things like that just kind of break a guys' suspension of disbelief a bit. But like I said, all-in-all, a decent film.

Poor quality video
This is a good movie, but the visual quality was poor. I was watching it with a friend many states over and it was poor for them also. :(

"You're hiding something"
A Korean sci-fi, which often gives a bit of a different take on things that seem old. And yes, one needs subtitles, which I know turns off many. But it is worth it. The movie begins and ends with a person walking in a hard suit on the ocean floor at 8000 ft, which I feel an impossibility, and immediately got me wondering where this was going. But then it flashes forward, and there is a small crew on a drilling rig. The story starts somewhat slow, so you get to know the various people on the rig. As they are about to give up finding oil., the mission is extended, and an older man comes on board, the Uncle. Well, it turns out the Uncle had found a living organism that is actually a massive energy source, as it burns very hot. So the Uncle and another scientist had tried to breed it early on, which as everyone knows, a big mistake. Then the movie really starts to take off, as the monster is extremely tough and ruthless in hunting down its prey. And it is a very interesting monster and extremely difficult to harm. As the movie hits the climax, one cannot help but wonder if one is seeing the Korean version of Ripley? I found the movie interesting, fun and entertaining.

Cheesy rip off fun
In this day and age, it’s hard to come up with new ideas. Just look at all the remakes and reboots being pumped of movie and tv studios. So when a movie like Sector 7 comes out (7 years ago), naturally it gets compared to everything before. Yes, it’s an “Alien” knock off to a good extent, there’s ridiculous motorcycles on a oil rig scenes, and the CG is slightly better than most SyFy movies. But if you want a cheesy B creature feature, that’s exactly what this movie is. It’s like a live action Resident Evil, but not made in America and there aren’t zombies, just one of the recurring bosses that mutate and hound you for several fights before you take it down(maybe?). Yeah it’s like that. I love movies like this though, so I’m biased. If you’re a seriously critical movie watcher, you’ll probably pick it apart so much you’ll loathe it. If you just like cheesy monster sci-fi action, in the vein of Alien (but nowhere close to as good), you will probably have fun with it at least, if not enjoy it like I did.

Fun Sci-Fi Flick
This is an average sci-fi monster movie about a drilling team on an offshore rig that are attacked by a mysterious creature. Their options are limited because a storm hits and they have limited weapons. The mystery is what is the creature and why is it there.Overall, the movie is enjoyable - but I am a big sci-fi fan. The movie was recorded in Korean but there is the option to listen to a version dubbed in English (rather than watch the Korean version with subtitles). I am very grateful for that because I get tired reading subtitles. However, the sound quality is not as good in the dubbed version. In particular, some of the subtle background sounds seem to be missing. And the voice inflection is not as good as in the Korean version. So I actually enjoyed the movie more in Korean. The movie is in 3D. But I cannot comment on that because I do not have a 3D TV.Overall, the movie was enjoyable. Yes, there are some flaws. But that is true with most sci-fi movies. I give it 4 stars for the Korean version and 3 for the dubbed version.

Scary, 'science goes wrong' movie
I love this movie, there is something about Korean horror that resonates with me. The things that are supposed to frighten us seem scarier in Asian films than they are in US films. This is the usual 'science gone wrong' plot' but in a location I haven't seen before. The characters are a bit 2-dimensional but still likeable. I didn't get as emotionally invested as I might have liked, but the movie is more about scares than anything else. The movie has a lot of action and a few great moments, and a few silly ones. Just one thing the epilog is lousy, there is no reason for it being there. As I said, scary with a lot (but not tons) of action. If you are not afraid to read subtitles watch this movie

SECTOR WASTEBASKET
There was enough here to keep my interest for maybe a half hour but the effects were sloppy, heavy handed drama mixed with hammy comedic moments and some serious over acting. The creature sucked as well - and I don't mean that in the horrific horror movie sense. About on par with a mediocre SyFy channel clunker. There was more potential here. Production and directorial mismanagement probably kept this from becoming something worthwhile. Save your money for something good unless you're a completist and just have to add this to your Korean horror collection.

Garbage
This movie is a perfect specimen of what cinematographic trash is. Filmed in an elementary fashion, Sector 7 is a hodgepodge of lame scriptwriting, poor acting and a surfeit of clichés already exploited in a much more convincing fashion by other film directors. Save your money for a good cup of joe.

I just love these movies...
Now here's a drilling expedition thats really gone wrong for a bunch of offshore oil workersthat harbors Korea's hopes of one day becoming energy-independent and her greatest dream is to find oil.but the drilling went dreadfully wrong on the rig.because everyone think's there is something outthere or down in the deep of the ocean.they have some cool Monsters in this movie that looks likeA Big Giant Seal [He Walks Like One]but really Nasty looking.so they say this is 3D but i don't think sonot the disc that i got it suppose to be 3D and 2D but i only got one disc and no were on the menuthat say 3D or 2D but i definitely got the 2D. excelente pelicula.
excelente pelicula me sorprendio. es tipo resident evil los primeros videojuegos no las peliculas medias malas que sacaron. los efectos 3d estan excelentes. el unico detalle es que el sonido es ingles o koreano y los subtitulos solo en ingles.
