Postcards From Bombay

This book is an absolute gem!
Postcards From Bombay is an utterly delightful little book by Jerry Pinto with glimpses of Bombay’s history with the most adorable illustrations. Progression is the result of a long haul of labour and toil but it often isn’t an occurrence of a peaceful growth or change. Bombay, similarly has a rather unpolished set of life and landscape altering events that eventually proved serendipitous bringing name and fame to the city.I like to think of Bombay as a city with a chaotically-comforting persona, it’s a true reflection of the yin-yang be it the hustling city dwellers, the culture, seasons or the sea. This light and quick read briefs the readers about those who changed Bombay with their persistence in vision and occupation. This breezy read can be devoured within an hour or less. Do pick it up for Jerry Pinto’s wit and refreshing take on a city that’s home with a fairly convoluted past.

Lovely book. Not just for kids.
Loved the book. Got to learn and experience many interesting things about Bombay - it’s past, culture, identity. All in a fun, relaxed, cosy manner. Liked the illustrations too. It’s a small book, reads fast, highly enjoyable for me. Definitely a good book to read and gift to children and anyone who enjoys a light read.
