GAMMA ONE Rice Bran Oil, 1 Liter

Lot of nice features of rice bran oil. I won’t go into oils. To be honest, I’ve never had a bad brand of rice bran oil. This is as good as any (I like it and will likely get again when I need more (unless price differential makes no sense when the time comes). I sauté with it and even use it in baked goods. And…I first learned of rice bran oil from somebody who uses it as a skin moisturizer. Great for that. Not greasy and makes your skin really soft.

-edit- The almost out of date product on the 1 order seems to have been an anomaly. I've purchased this oil twice more since then. Purchase date 9.23.25 - best by date 2.10.27. Purchase date 1.06.26 - best by date 10.11.27. I've adjusted the 3 star rating to 5 stars. I am satisfied with the performance of this product and will continue to purchase this product in the future. -end edit- I've purchased this product twice from Amazon. The first time was December 5th 2024 and the best by date on the bottle was 6/11/26. The 2nd time I ordered was April 10th 2025 and the best by date on the newest bottle is 6/17/25. 68 days from the day I ordered it. Why am I being shipped a product that is that close to an expiration date? This oil has a shelf life of YEARS. There really is just no valid excuse. This product is non returnable because it's food. Someone needs to do better with inventory management and rotation. As a cooking oil I like it. I'm allergic to soy oils. This rice oil having a neutral flavor and a high smoke point works very well for me. Unfortunately in my town finding a rice oil that isn't garlic infused or trying to be more than it is, next to impossible. So oil on Amazon is my 1 reliable option even at an inflated price. Apparently even that is a crapshoot with the roulette on what expiration date you're gonna get. I've removed 2 stars for the expiration date being so close. Might as well just shoved 12 dollars in the trash.

A half gallon of this oil lasted me more than a year. A little goes a long way. It is a fabulous oil that never smokes at high temps. It doesn't have an overpowering taste like olive oil. The taste is mild and pleasant. What's even better is that this oil has a really high smoking point and the nutrients stay stable at high heat. Olive oil tends to break down once it reached 350 F. I heard that Rice Bran oil is even better than olive oil as far as being healthy. Rice bran oil has more antioxidant activity than olive oil because of its high vitamin E content. It's also high in vitamin K. Even though I never kept it refrigerated it held its quality for 14 months. Never went rancid and didn't lose it's taste.

I am satisfied with the oil. People told me it had a high smoke point, but I do not believe it to be better than other oils for smoke. It worked well in my cast iron pan to prevent sticking, and it was easy enough to clean. If I had not had as much smoke, I might have given it a higher rating. I am not impressed.

I use this mainly for cooking at high temps. I've used this for years. I've never had a rancid smelling bottle. It is always a light oil that works well and doesn't leave food heavy even if I screw up and use too much oil. Even when pushed to the smoking point it doesn't get bitter or acrid tasting. I've never used it for things like mayo, dressings, or other emulsions.

I have been using this oil for my skin and face. It's really good after I wash my face, moisturize, and use the oil last to seal in the moisture. It's a good light oil to use on your skin.

I initially purchased a liter to try due to experiencing severe health issues caused by Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS.) I am very limited on what I can eat and started to have issues with oil I would typically use. Someone mentioned this rice bran oil in a support group so I gave this a try. While looking around, the prices were quite high, but this brand was reasonable. After getting it in the mail, I tried a bit raw and was surprised by the smooth light flavor that tasted like butter. I can’t have butter and did a happy dance in my kitchen once tasting this. I have cooked veggies, pancakes, fish, and some fruit with it and also use it as a non-stick oil for baking. IT’S PERFECT! Just bought the two liter a few days ago. Best try it now before it becomes hot on the market.

Hard to find in stores. This is nice rice oil.
