Great gps
Pay no attention to bad reviews on this gps. This thing is dead on accurate. Crystal clear screen. Only negative thing I've found is not enough low bridge warning. I haul oversized loads. So to test it out I set vehicle height at 14'8".... I knew there was a 14'6" overpass on my route. Gps flashed low bridge warning about 2 miles ahead. But problem is by then I'd already passed the last exit before low bridge. So had I really been 14'8" tall I'd have been S..T out of luck... but other than that it's best gps I've owned period.... I've owned tom tom and most recent was a Magellan roadmate wihich is a great gps. But the one I I had didn't have truck routing. And oh by the way shipping was 2 days early😁😁

It works fine but Garmin has cheapened up the case a bit ...
It works fine but Garmin has cheapened up the case a bit and made it more "clunky" the on off button is now on the opposite side no biggie if you only have one but if you have a fleet of trucks it is another excuse for drivers to get their paws all over the place. If you have wired in your power cord from a previous model that cord has caused error codes/ non compatible issues on screen and needs to be changed to the one that came with unit. other than that there is not any real big difference from the previous model.

Awesome at the beginning... Now not so much...
First let me say that this product worked perfectly the first 3 weeks after i had gotten it. After then it started occasionally saying that the power cable was "incompatible" for the unit and it is the same one that came with it. The It would display that same message every 3 sec. So I updated the unit and every thing was fine for the first few days after. Now it still will display that same message once or twice every hr but now a worse problem... it will randomly shut down and restart over and over. The unit is up to date on system and map updates. I haven't bought a new cord because they're around $60-$70 to buy new.One would think a cord that would cost that much would be high quality but apparently not. Now maybe I am one of those rare cases that got a crap unit but even still I would not recommend this product to anyone spend your $300 else ware.

I am a bit disappointed with it as I thought it would function better ...
Overall I would say this just an ok GPS. Frankly, I am a bit disappointed with it as I thought it would function better than it does. I have had this for almost 2 full years now. I got it for driving commercial vehicles with passengers (trolleys, coach bus, limo bus, etc.) I was most interested in avoiding low clearances as well as weight limits. One of the extra features that comes along with it is most annoying. It re-routes you just to avoid sharp turns in the road! I even tried changing the length of the vehicle in the profile to see if that would make a difference but it has not. If it just showed a warning about curves that should be sufficient. Instead it routes you miles out of your way. As a result, I mostly use it in car mode defeating the purpose of the purchase entirely. It also does not always route you the quickest way. One specific way I go (on a major road) eliminates 7 minutes from the route! Why won't this do the same? Also, my Nuvi gave you the ability to change the speed of the segment that you were on as it is often wrong or non-existent. The Dezl does not have that functionality, you cannot edit speeds at all. Another irritating thing is that most of the time that I manually change the route the way that want to go it will finally adapt but then I have to manually add back in the arrival time! Why it will not stay there as a default is a complete mystery. The power cord has already failed. The rubber became separated near where it connects to the unit exposing the wires. It started to short out and I had to use my old Nuvi cord while I wait for a new one which leaves my wife without a GPS. I called Garmin and they wouldn't do a thing for me since it was out of warranty. A complete joke to have the cord fail already. Next, I just tried to do a map update. I had upated it when I first got it and it already almost ran out of room. It said I would have to add a memory disk next time. This is also ridiculous as you should get more than one update using the memory in the unit before having to purchase additional memory. I added the memory card and tried an update. After about a half hour or so into the update it cancelled abruptly and said there was an error during the download. The screen started flashing back and forth and then shut down. The only way I can turn it on now is in the car where it proceeds to tell me that the map is corrupted and install a new one. When I try to do that it won’t even recognize that it’s plugged in and I can’t even power it up with the button on the back. Support is shut down on weekends (another mystery) and I needed it for work tomorrow. Even if I they replace it I may have lost all my data of favorites, etc. Caveat Emptor (Let the buyer beware)

It's OK.
I had purchased this after using the Rand McNally 510 for a few years. The graphics on this one are far superior than that of what you will find on the rand McNally Version, however I have found that the mapping and guidance suggestions on the Rand McNally version is far superior. Too me, I would rather have more accurate mapping. That being said, this Garmin device, did not lead me down any roads with low, or weight restricted bridges. In fact, it did the opposite, it routed me around bridges that it didn't need to route me around. I liked the fact that it provided free traffic, but this only works around large cities. I did not buy the upgrade available for purchase. I use this GPS, even though it is a truckers version, primarily as backup to my Rand device and as the main device for my car. I do not like the fact that it bases your routing based on the entire length (truck and trailer) of your vehicle and not on the trailer itself. (either a 53 or 48.) However, one of the things I do like about this device is you can easily customize your own route if you know where you are going. (However, if you know where you are going, why do you need a gps right?) I have found that the speed notifications on the device are not very accurate. Moreover, you can not send the company suggestions, as you can the Rand device, on routes or tell them to fix the speed limit that is incorrect.

I guess, overall, I like it. I almost returned it, because on it's maiden voyage it gave some wonky routing and named a major road by a different name (In Windsor Ontario it called Dougall Ave "Ouellette", which it doesn't turn into Ouellete until much further down), then wanted me to turn down some roads a truck should NEVER go down when there were major roadways right up the street. But I was in the car and on some non truck streets. Maybe that confused it. Ultimately, I decided to keep it and give it a chance, my other truck GPS died and I really needed a replacement. My other GPS was a Magellan 1500 7 inch screen with a Copilot navigation chip. I think the routing on that GPS was a bit better than this Garmin unit. The Garmin has been mostly OK, but sometimes will send you on a route that's not practical. You can detour or change the route on the Garmin if you don't like where it's sending you. I really like that it knows when roads are closed and will reroute to get around the closure. I also like the live traffic, these two items have come in VERY handy. The voice command feature works really well most of the time for addresses, finding locations, etc. and it will connect to your smart phone so you can use voice command to operate your phone and talk hands free through the GPS. The sharp curve warning misses some curves sometimes and the feature that lets you know what the speed limit is not accurate occasionally. But those features are still helpful, they work most of the time. The lane assist is great, also alerts you when you are approaching a scale house. Has other features that I haven't used yet or don't need to use. I thought I would miss my 7 inch screen, but I have found this 5 inch screen is more than adequate. The screen is glass, I bought a different mount for it rather than using the suction cup windshield mount. The suction cup tends to fail if the windshield is not quite as clean as you thought or if it's really cold outside. A couple of good falls would do it in. I bought a dash mount that attaches to the air vent so it's mounted securely to the dashboard. The phone and voice command work better this way, too much noise when it's on the window. In conclusion, as long as you get the truck atlas out, plan your trip before hand(google street view and google earth are so helpful) and don't solely depend on it, it's a good tool. If Garmin could fix the little bugs that it has, it would be 5 star all the way. Update June 6, 2016. There is a major road closure on E 96 near Detroit. This GPS caught this and rerouted last week, this week it didn't catch it at all. I'm really disappointed in the inaccuracies this item has for the money I paid. I took a star off of my review, my opinion at this point is, it's just OK.

I have used this GPS while driving 53 semi trucks on the east coast Canada/USA. This is my honest review. Note: The GPS was always updated. -It doesn't provide all the truck stops available / in Canada it get worst. -It doesn't always provide correct bridge height limits: imagine how dangerous can be, be careful. -The maps are behind with what is real, considering all updates are current, this is very bad. (Ex. Road construction finalized 1 year ago, that changed exists, lanes etc not updated in USA, always worst in Canada) -Promises to show truck accessible routes ... it doesn't do that. It happens to me... to many times to count, where new truck restrictions where put in place by municipalities and even after 2-3 years Garmin was not updated. And if there is a temporarily restriction on main highways, forget about it. You can get a very expensive ticket. Sometimes...it will lead you to roads that will end up being restricted and you have no way to turn around. -In Canada's most used highway 401 Toronto - Montreal...it will send you in the bushes without any reason, when the highway is perfectly fine. -It will give you truck rest area at locations where is plain forest in last 500 years. :) -It won't find addresses to long established warehouses in big cities in USA or Canada. Google maps is free on your telephone or iPad and will find these locations better than this useless expensive tool and doesn't make for the money. -Canada: main highways, it won't tell you the rest areas, service stations, parking... really for Canada it is better to use google maps or any other app, this will make it worst for you. As I said... I was literally sent for a truck parking off the 401 east, in a bush... there was no sign of civilization there. I mean there are some things extremely wrong with the Garmin maps. We are in 2021. I can't understand why Garmin doesn't update the maps with all the restrictions, I mean at least to the ones that aren't temporary, why in 2021 Garmin doesn't have an interactive map, where us, drivers can make notes of current restorations changes made by municipalities... imagine how much work would save them. Boy I just can't wait until Google will make the maps for trucks as well. The one star: this is an expensive tool, like a ipad mini or samsung tablet, that can make so much more; as a truck driver you pay for it, because you expect to have a real tool, not a toy, just to find out, that off the main highway this is a lot worst than google maps or waze... that are free apps on any cell phone nowadays. (special note for within Canada drivers, complete useless, just don't buy it)

Have owned and used several Garmin GPS units with good results in the past, and was expecting more from the Dezl 570. I started trucking by using a Garmin Nuvi 2455 and wanted a GPS with more trucking-specific features. I was hoping the dezl 570 would serve the purpose, but am disappointed so far. PROS: Nice size, clear and easy-to-read display. No significant initialization or start-up issues. CONS: Trucking features vary significantly by jurisdiction (Canada/US and state/state) such as missing or incorrectly located: rest-stops, weigh-scales, and truck-stops. A significant issue was encountered in IOWA where the GPS showed I35 as having a weight restriction of 40,000 pounds (which is not correct). (I switched GPS vehicle type from truck to car to resolve the issue). Also, for reasons unknown, on two occasions the GPS routed me along narrow roads and through small towns when more direct, better routes where available (the GPS implied construction or traffic issues - but there were none). Am now using this GPS with caution. Value for price paid is hard to justify.

I spent a few weeks debating if I should shell out for this device, as I run heavy counter weight loads for a crane company and really needed a trusted device. After reading a few decent reviews I went for it. The package arrived fairly quickly, yet everything inside the package was in unsealed packagaing, including the box itself. Leading me to believe this was not a "new" unit as advertised. I updated the maps and took it on ONE trip in my truck, it performed decently. With another trip coming up, I went to turn the unit on the night prior to pre plan. The unit would not turn on no matter what I did, I left it to charge, plugged it into my computer ect. After two days of charging and trying every button combo possible, I gave up. A $400 paper weight now, this unit died on me in LESS THAN A WEEK. I'm back to using Google maps which works just as well. This unit is garbage and I highly advise against spending your hard earned money on it. Only after I had these problems I found several other reviews on this unit with the same issues. Buyer beware, this is a waste of your money. Use google maps. Filling out the return label at this moment. You've been warned!

Great GPS....Lives up to its expectations except the maximum volume is somewhat inaudible in a noisy semi truck....I ordered it after seeing the Garmin dezl 770lmthd with a friend and everything was perfect in that other than the size which I thought was too big. They need to work on the volume of the dezl 570lmt considering its meant to be used in a truck....other than that great buy!!
