The Sierra Club Guide to Painting in Nature

I would recommend this to beginners and/or intermediate watercolourist. Best advice. Cathy is so down to earth and authentic. This book provides enough writen and visual information to begin plein air painting with watercolour.

I bought this based on an artist recommendation. So far, so good. I’m just a beginner so it’s taking me a bit to get through it.

I had this book out of the library so many times and renewed it so often that I really thought I should get my own copy. I just wish I had more time to do everything Cathy Johnson recommends. I know my art would improve greatly if I did.

the Author is a very fine painter and her instructions are excellent. I would have liked even more color illustrations.

Beautiful book and a lovely addition to my library. Enjoy just looking through it. Of course, I can't find anything wrong with anything of Cathy's that I have acquired.
