I bought this to have a second press for my flat top grill that I bought off of Wish for a $150.00 I already bought a lid that came with one of these. I wanted the second so when I'm cooking for the misses I can do all 4 burgers or whatever else I make. I found these work great if you put them on the grill for a bit to allow them to get hot before you put them on the meet. Just make sure to spray some non-stick spray or oil them so the food doesn't stick for the first few times you use them.

My husband loves steak, but would never buy New York Strips because he hated the way the fat made them curl. Even when they were on sale he would pick a tougher cut just to avoid having to slice the fat.This solves that problem and he has cooked a few Strip Steaks since Christmas and they have been great. He uses a grill pan when the weather is cold and sits the weight in the unused area of the pan. Once they start to curl he lays the weight on and always says 'thanks for the gift, honey'. It's been a gift for both of us!

Stupid me thought I could use it in the microwave to press the paper towels on the bacon. Before I used a plate to flatten it out. I don't know what I was thinking!!! But I guess if I prepared anything in a sauce pan, it would be great. Oh well. :(

I have always wanted to try a weight on my steaks and burger patties to make sure they would cook evenly.This weight is well worth every dime. I use it on my steaks and burgers primarily, and it doesn’t take long for the meat to cook so evenly, and the best part is when the take the weight off, all the juices from the meat are visible on top and you know your steak or burger is great to go.Love it love it.

It’s a nitpick thing, but I’d love this thing to have a metal handle. But, it performs well for what it is. The only real gripe is stippling on the bottom that touches the food is unnecessary and gives food a crevice to hide in, which makes cleaning just a bit more difficult than a simple wipe down.

i really like the product and find it useful, i was surprised that before the first use, i had to take it apart and season it.this is quite common for cast iron tools, but in this case, the fact that i had to take it apart (remove wooden handle) made it a bit clumsy. i think the manufacturer could have shipped it separate or pre-season it.
