We purchased this after borrowing similar traps from a local TNR. The gentle, yet secure, way that the trap closes is so much nicer than ones that slam shut and scare the trapped animal. Some cats didn't even notice they'd been trapped until we went to lift the trap. We did end up ordering the bigger version as well, mostly for the size and the second door, but both work great. We've even had cats sleep in them while the traps are open outside... and that was after they'd been trapped and you'd think they'd be scared of them. Easy to set and the coated metal is easy to clean. Awesome product.

This is very small for mice and rats

I have used a 24" Tru Catch Trap for two years. It has proved a very efficient way to catch pest animals. I caught at least one animal every day for 10+ days in 2020 and 2021. Once I caught three squirrels in two days. It remains its integrity after trapped animals tried to break it. I have trapped 9+ skunks and many squirrels. I studied many customer review before purchasing this 24" one; I am very happy with my first animal trap. I discovered that using two chunk of peanut butter does the best to lure animals quickly.

THE ONLY BRAND OF TRAP CAT TRAPPERS SHOULD BUY. The regular size ones are TOO SMALL.

First I bought one of the cheap ones. They ALMOST work. Of the 6 times we used it, it failed THREE TIMES. Once the cat literally bent the frame to get past the door. Adult cats are STRONG little buggers! We had used this brand and style, but a larger model, for TNR (Trap And Release) work and they work great BUT, were a little pricey for me. When I (wisely, VERY wisely) found this one, the cheapometer in my head went ding ding ding and I knew we had a match! Pros: It will make your Cheapometer VERY happy. If that happens to be your husband or wife, consider it a twofer. It will make your OLD trap very UNHAPPY, (rotten, worthless, piece of #TERT$%^DW@#!!!). It will WORK(!!!!) making YOU very happy in numerous ways, such as less bleeding, less blood to wash out of your clothes, (and sometimes, less clothes to wash out of the blood...sigh/ouch). Less STRESS from the embarrassment of being outsmarted by a supposedly dumb animal with a brain smaller than the giant Cheeto you just shoved in your face. It is SOLID, making a confusing mixture of people, body parts, and inanimate objects happy. Cons: It doesn't have a backdoor, so you have to put the food in from the front. If your arms are only 12" long, do NOT buy this trap, it will only piss you off. It takes THREE hands to open the door easily. Use of any other body part or parts is done at your own risk AND you may receive a harsh scolding from the Surgeon General. Don't take it personal. He just doesn't have anything else to do. The trap is a little short, so you won't be catching any catipedes in it. The last few legs would hang out the back of the trap. BUT, I guess this one is only HALF a con, because the door isn't spring loaded, so you won't have to clean up after a squished catipede dies in your trap. Yay! So there you have it. One gazillion,23 trillion,173 billion, 312 million and THREE reasons to buy, this AWESOME trap. You'll love it, Boy Scouts honor!

I've used these traps for 2 years doing TNR on cats. I've accidentally trapped 2 cats in 1 trap TWICE and these traps held their own. They are very easy to use, are very quiet when they close, and I've never had a cat hurt by them. I highly recommend these traps to anybody that does TNR or just simply needs to use a trap meant for cats.

Like the coating, easy setting process. Used it to catch a very small kitten, too small for my regular Tru-Catch cat trap.

Because the door is difficult to open plus it opens out instead of inward like most traps I couldn't open the door while keeping the trapped kittens inside the trap so they escaped. Having to use both hands to lift the two rings on either side of door to the top of door then while holding them use a finger to lift the door itself up and outward is difficult enough when you are setting the trap but try keeping something that you trapped in the trap while you do all of that? Re-diculous. I can return it but beside shipping cost, which is acceptable, they charge you a 20% restocking fee even though I intended on purchasing the bigger trap. This was a waste of money and I have to buy a different trap
