Not a $200 reel, but...
Considering the price...killer product. Others have mentioned the main flaw. The space between reel an the reel cage will allow the line to slip or get jammed between them occasionally. Not often enough to rule this reel out. I fixed the problem by building up the reel case/frame with metal epoxy and shaping it to close the tolerance. No issues now.The drag settings are very course. Pretty much little drag or a lot of drag with slight adjustments. My opinion, drag is over rated on fly reels. If you can dial in a setting you like, you're good. And you can with this reel.Great starter reel or backup.Update: was contacted by customer service. They felt that the reel was defective + it has a 1 yr warranty. They sent me a replacement within a few weeks. It's a much better reel. The spacing between the spool and cage is much tighter. The spool fit on the bearing shaft, is quite a bit better. I've beat the hell out of the first one and it just keeps working. QC might not be as good as one might like, but when this reel is right...it's a pleasure to fish with. Hats off to customer service. I'd check with them before you post a review. They are very helpful.

Leader wrapped up inside the reel when it arrived - But Excellent Customer Service
Update 15JUN2022 - Excellent Customer Service. I wrote this review and got feedback from Maxumucatch. They sent me a new real and it was in perfect condition. Took it out today and caught a small brook trout in the river. So I changed the rating from 1 star to 4. Will certainly consider buying from them again. When I got the reel, the leader was completely wrapped in the internal part of the real. I literally spent hours trying to unravel it. As I unwound the reel turn by turn, it would slowly unwrap the leader. After 2 hours I only unwound 1 foot of leader. At this point, the reel itself was very loose. I then carefully took the reel apart and was finally able to remove the 9 ft leader. I was able to put the reel back together easily, but now it was so super loose that it was unusable.

Great reel for the money
Great reel for the money, fly fishing isn't rocket science, reels are a glorified line holder anyways. Stop spending more on expensive reels that really don't come into play fishing rivers, streams, or lakes anyways

Descent reel for the price
Nice reel, nothing to write home about. But it does the job.

Not CNC but cast.
Fairly inexpensive for aluminum but cast rather than milled (CNC) so could crack if dropped hard. Function and smoothness is fine. A decent reel and could hold up well. Not as good looking and smooth as a CNC reel.

Great value - nice looking - seems well made.
Just like advertised. Cast aluminum but well machined. Trout paint application well done.

Good Value ... but keep it clean & oiled
I have used the 3/4 reel for 4 seasons ... mainly bass & bluegill. The drag started out smooth, but got jerky after the 2nd season. Cleaned and oiled the roller bearings and the drag was smooth again. I did not have to open the frame side of the reel with the drag. I now clean and oil the spool side of this reel after every season ... more frequently than my other reels. Fortunately, it is an easy task. Be careful not to force the nylon roller bearing cage while removing it ... seems flimsier than others I've seen.
