I have been wet shaving for several years and have tested many badger brushes over the last decade. I tend to look for a few things when using them. 1. The quality of the handle. 2. The quality of the bristles. 3. The quality in assembly. 1. Quality of the handle: This badger brush handle seems to be made of high quality materials. The paint is thick (in a good way) and consistent. It has a nice shape in the hand and is easy to grip, even if your hands are wet. Good stuff. 2. Quality of the bristles: The thing that I like about this badger brush is that the bristles are nicely shaped and have a good thickness to them. They are immediately soft out of the box (well, tube really) and don't smell nearly as bad as many other brushes I've used. **Disclaimer - if you've never used a badger brush before, they tend to smell like a weird funk. I like to wash them with warm water and peppermint soap in order to help curb that. It will eventually fade.** That being said, I think the smell went away after the first or second use, so great job there. 3. Quality of the assembly: This goes along with the other two parts of the equation, but this brush is assembled very well. It has a nice steel ring where the bristles meet the handle and in a month and a half, I've hardly had any bristles fall out. I would say that it is completely normal for bristles to fall out after use, since they are glued to the handle and over time the stress of use can cause them to break off. This brush seem very well suited for long term use and the bristles are well secured. Actual use: I've tested this with their shaving cream, as well as a bar of shaving soap. It functions as it should and creates a great lather quickly. Pro tip, when you are working on your second or third pass, be sure to squeeze the bristles from the base of the handle and pull through your hand. This will ensure you get the best shaving cream from the center of the brush. Overall, I'd give this one a 10 out of 10. I've enjoyed using the brush in combination with the stainless steel bowl and their sandalwood shaving cream.

Good product for the price. The bristles are soft feeling but firm. Build nice leather easily and feels nice against the skin. Only issue is losing bristles. Great brush to get you by as you save for a more expensive brush or as a beginner brush. But the bristle loss is worrying. It may stop. If I have to replace it because it losses to many I will update.

Love using this it's bristles are soft unlike an artificial one I used. Been using it for a while and it has not shed bristles from the brush.

I bought this brush 2 years ago and it's still working well. The strong scent went away after a few days and the white logo is fading. It looses a hair now and then, but so do I. It's hard to believe this brush is only $10.00. A lot less than two specialty coffees. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I finally wore out my old brush so i ordered this one because I’ve been using the shave soaps for a year now and i really like them so i figured I’d give it a shot. Great brush. Works better than my old one.

The headline says it all. I've shaved using this brush to lather my soap up aa few times. One bristle came out the first time I used it. Six came out the second time I used it. Two came out the third time I used it. Anyway, I'd always used shaving brushes with artificial badger hair before buying this one to see what all the fuss was about. It has a bit of a musky scent (not overwhelming or anything, but not absent either-- you'll smell it when you use it as intended). Aside from the shedding this brush does, it lathers my soap up well and spreads that lather decently. It has something in common with inexpensive shaving brushes, which is that your soap will tend to run down the bristles, onto the handle, and onto your hand and countertop as you foam your face up. I can't complain too much given this product's price point, but I was expecting more from a genuine badger hair brush. I've never lost any bristles with my artificial brushes.

Very bad This brush is terrible. The hair is extremely rough it feels like needles after the first use.

If I put the price in perspective, I should give it a higher rating. But the badger hair is super hard and it took very many times to get a bit softer.
