Sweet Little Thing: A Novella (Sweet Thing)

Will and Mia's happily ever after...
Back when I read Sweet Thing, it had been my first "power-read" of the year. I had looked up at the clock once to debate whether I should go to bed or not, but ultimately the time was irrelevant and the all-nighter inevitable. I just could not let go of Will and Mia. So when I finally had the next part of their journey in my hands, it was no surprise at all that I consumed every single page in one sitting! This time around, Will's voice tells their story. And what an eccentric, passionate, and thoughtful voice it is. Sweet Little Thing is the big happily ever after that the first book left us all desperate for!I was so deliriously happy reading this book. My smile-muscles got a workout, the butterflies were kicking in full force, and it was all perfect. Will made me laugh. He made me melt. There was no ripping my heart to pieces and putting it back together again. That was done. Over. This time, my heart was able to blissfully beat along with the rhythm of their sweet, sweet story. The first few chapters were like meeting up with old friends and receiving a warm bear hug. After each smart-ass, yet completely affectionate remark, I wanted to shriek, "I've missed you guys!" Will walked up to Kell's at one point and compared the cafe to a childhood home, a safe place. It put me right back there again. I even found myself noting artists and songs, left and right, all over again. Sweet Little Thing had all of the charm from the first book and then some. This was mostly thanks to Mia not making things so difficult and getting in her own way. We get to see an entirely different side of her through Will's eyes! I thought of all the obstacles they hit in the beginning of their relationship...and all of the heartache *I* went through ;)...and truly believed that this was the reward for that heavy price. You felt the mystical alchemy! For all of Will's quirkiness and enthusiasm, Mia matched him. As in...Will would leave her post-it notes every morning on the tea kettle...and she turned those post-its into a bikini top for a selfie...Uh, yup! You're going to adore her. (*cough* Also, striptease. *cough*) There was zero trace of that cruel, shutdown girl from book one, and I loved seeing that shift in her character! And, speaking of changes...*grins even wider*...Will and Mia go through two life-changing milestones in this book: a wedding and a pregnancy. I had a "Whoa..." moment towards the end, where I realized just how far these two have come. This novella is overflowing with precious moments. When everything fell into place, it happened in a way that was unique to their personalities and their relationship. I squeed so hard, laughed out loud, and wanted to burst into the happiest kind of tears! After I turned the last page of Sweet Thing, I couldn't help but wonder how Will and Mia would handle getting married and having a baby, so I was so glad to see their best friends at their side throughout that journey! I already admired Jenny, but I loved that Tyler got some time underneath the wing-man spotlight too! This story is rich with vibrant characters, and I could never get enough of them. And, once again, the ending tugged at my heartstrings and hit all of the right notes. The ending was surprising, yet what I was hoping for...*that* feeling all over again. It started out in a flurry...a hilariously chaotic, yet exciting flurry that only Wilbur Ryan could pull off in fantastic fashion...Then, everything suddenly got real. I felt each emotion that Will went through. I could sense his depth of love for Mia and his level of devotion. Beautiful. There was absolutely nothing that I would change about this story...how I lived, laughed, and loved with Will and Mia. Author Renee Carlino managed to reach out and touch my heart and soul with another beautiful masterpiece. Sweet Thing and Sweet Little Thing will go on my bookshelf as two of my favorite books ever!

I'm going to miss Will and Mia.
If I could say one thing about Sweet Little Thing it would be that it is a perfect little novella. I believe it to be one of the first novellas I’ve reviewed so perhaps I’m a little biased, but regardless, Sweet Little Thing provides the perfect insight to Will and Mia’s lives following the last pages of Sweet Thing. (Final pages, not the Epilogue). After finding one another again, Mia and Will have moved to Brooklyn to start over as a couple. They’re engaged, Will’s opened a studio, all that’s left is to get married and make music. But it isn’t that easy. Somehow life always seems to get in the way – pulling them along for the ride. But no matter how hard you try to plan for things, life can always surprise you. As their lives finally begin to unfold, watch as Mia and Will take another big leap of faith and welcome another sweet little thing into their lives. At first it was hard remembering that this book was from Will’s POV. Part of me felt that it was hard to differentiate between Will’s and Mia’s, and often felt like Mia was telling the story instead. Will is so playful, and honest, and even sometimes a little bit scary, but he genuinely cares for Mia and wants to do what’s best for her. That’s the kind of love everyone should have; a love where you can be playful, have fun, have naked dinners, and cuddle, and yell at each other while still being madly in love. The wedding and their sweet little surprise all seemed so fast. I would have liked to see some more of Mia and Will and how he treated her while she was pregnant; how they managed to balance their lives with the studio as well. I think all of those things would be adorable if explored in further detail, making the novella a little bit longer. But, other than that I have no complaints. I thoroughly enjoyed the end of their love story, and how their love and trust and family grew even more. SIGH“Sometimes we’re just along for the ride,” she said over my shoulder. “We can’t control everything; we can only do our best to control our reactions when life doesn’t go our way.”4/5 Hearts of Love

Sweet, neurotic Will....
I re-read Sweet Thing to get me ready to the novella and I'm so glad I did. I had forgotten just how much I adored Will Ryan which is a shame.Sweet Little Thing picks up a little after Sweet Thing. Will and Mia have been living together for a little while and working together in their studio/production company. Life is good and FINALLY all the angst is gone. This is told only from Will's POV which is nice after knowing how much he has always loved Mia and how he waited for her to realize her feelings as well. This book is pretty sexy and definitely has it's funny moments with Will's craziness. We got the sense he was a little nuts (in a good way from Sweet Thing) but now we get to read from his POV and it will make you love him even more.Unexpectedly, Mia finds out she is pregnant while she is working (or not) on their wedding plans. Will freaks out initally but then goes back to being his sweet and thoughtful self. The novella is a good length and some of the side stories are glossed over a bit for the sake of time (Chad and the recording studio drama) but everything wraps up nicely and by the end, you get to witness Will and Mia welcoming their child into the world. There is a very short epilogue from Mia which takes place three years later and is the perfect wrap up to this sweet book. I adored Will and even though Mia got on my nerves a lot in the first book, I found her much more enjoyable this time around. Definitely a highly recommended read!

Love Love Loved it!
So nice to catch up with Mia and Will again & this book was told through Will's POV. Sweet Little Thing told what happens at the beginning of their married life, and epilogues 3 years later by Mia. Really nice to have a hero who is not a dominating alpha male for a change just a sweet sometimes neurotic bloke who made mistakes at times but is just really nice, sweet and good at heart. Such a nice easy going story with good side characters. A must read if you liked 'Sweet Thing'. Have already pre-ordered Renee Carlino's net book this was so well written well done.

Nothing special
The story is very predictable, lovely written, but very repetitive. Unfortunately whole plot is very similar to author's other book - Before we were strangers.

the perfect conclusion
Having enjoyed reading Renee Carlino's book Sweet Thing, I knew I would enjoy this novella ( novella's are generally not my choice of read), but this was great fun. Most of the book is in Will's POV and he has a great sense of humour and YES I do recommend it if you read Sweet thing.
