I have a very small space to put my dog's dishes and every mat I looked at to go under them was so Big! I thought this might be too small when I ordered it, but it is the perfect size for two dog dishes and to contain the spills he causes (I do have to say that he's not one that lifts his muzzle from the water dish dripping with water--I had a dog like that and I don't know if this would have contained her messes). I like that it has a little lip, water doesn't just slide off it onto the floor. The silicone keeps the water on the mat so it's easy to mop up if there's too much (usually I just leave it and it dries). And it's super easy to clean--I just wipe it off with a damp rag. If I don't want it out when guests come, I just roll it up and put it under the sink. This little mat works perfectly for my dog and the space I have for his dishes.

I have these in all of the feeding areas in my house, they lay flat, contain drips and do a fairly good job at keeping food from scattering. They wipe up easily and look neat.

Overall this mat is great. I got the mint green color, it was a little mintier than I was personally hoping for but not untrue to the picture. (I was just hoping it would arrive darker than it looked online to better match my kitchen.) The size options are great because we have traditional water bowls as well as one of the self filling water bowls and they don't take up the same amount of space. It comes rolled up so you may have to weight down one side to get the roll out of it but overall that isn't a big deal. The mat is made of a nice material and would be super easy to clean. Now for the draw backs. If you have large dogs or especially messy drinkers it just doesn't seem that the lip around this mat is tall enough to keep you water on the mat. Since the water didn't stay on the mat it collected underneath and left our flooring soaking under there, can't have that. We have two 60+ lb mixes and a Great Dane so it just isn't ideal for our household. I do also wish it could be purchased in a more square shape. I used this mat under the self filling water bowl and while the length did a great job catching the water that splashes out to the side it did not extend far enough in front of the bowl to catch the water dripping out of their mouths. The rectangular shape would have me with a HUGE mat to get ideal front coverage without sacrificing side coverage. With all that said it does seem durable for what it's made for (ie, no it will not hold up to any kind of chewing but it isn't made for that.), super easy to clean, and the colors are nice and true to pictures. For a home with smaller dogs or cats or for some non pet related purpose I'm sure this would serve someone just perfect, just not me.

As my cat is getting older, she's making more of a mess with her water dish. While we cleaned the water off the floor daily (or more), we were still noticing some warping of the wood. This mat had a strong smell when it first came out of the package, so I let it air out for a couple of days prior to putting it under the water bowls. My cat still makes a mess, but the wood floor isn't impacted. The mat is very easy to clean and stays in place.

This is the second one I purchased, for the second floor of my house. This is a high quality mat, easy to clean and a must have to keep your floors clean. We even used them in carpeted areas before.

The lip/edge is more shallow than I thought it would be. It might keep a few dribbles of water from rolling off onto the floor, but not necessarily a slosh of water or big spill. It is soft and bendy, like rubber, it rolls up, so not sturdy, not able to pick up and carry like a tray. It is easy to clean, just throw it into the sink and wipe it down. I know it had the measurements but it's still a bit smaller than I wanted. My dog tends to remove her food from her bowl, place it on the floor and then eat it, so I'm hopeful, if there's enough room that she'll move the food to the mat instead of the floor, which will be easier cleanup. It might make a great placemat for a toddler, to catch all the spills and crumbs while eating at the table and then be able to clean it up in the sink with little to no mess on the table...just an idea ; ) 3.4 stars IMHO

Like this mat, and this one is good for a sloppy medium and small dog but not for our big sloppy drinker lol ! Going right back to the merchant and get a bigger one. The mat is pliable, loved the color pastel shade, and has a lip all-around to catch water and crumbs. Price was good too.

I actually got this for an interesting use. I play a floor model celtic harp and it was sliding on the floor, so I needed something close to the size of the bottom of the harp to keep it stable. This mat filled the bill. So look beyond being a feeding mat. It's smooth on the top, unlike so many other feeding mats, and has a slight rim around it, so it's perfect for keeping my harp corralled, but it would make a great mat for under a large potted plant since it's waterproof. I didn't rate water resistance because I haven't used it in that way. I'm sure there are many uses for this mat that I haven't thought of. Between it being a smooth mat, the many colors give you many options.
