Valuable Device For RV
Rugged build and works well. Indicator lights are easy to see, even from inside the RV and allow you to monitor electric circuit status. Would definitely buy again.

Works Well!
I like it so far, had it for a 1.5 months. I am concerned when it starts raining, thinking I will build something to cover it up during the rainy season to protect it from the rain. Some reviews comment about this device getting water logged and failing. It is now the rainy season, I have had this surge guard for 9 months. I covered the surge guard and cable power plug connection with a heavy plastic bag. I see the bag has deteriorated and exposed the connection to the rain. This protector has blocked a surge for me on 2-3 occasions now and reset itself, it has worked perfectly. I found another cover for it and am trying that to see if this one will work better. This surge protector has now pasted the hurricane test. When power came back on last night it worked perfectly. I had no problems and everything is working as it should! I would recommend this surge protector.

This Surge (50 amp) is a great product and has proven itself
OK, I see a lot of negative and positive reviews of this item. We have had 2 since 2015 and camp just about every weekend, so it is always in use through all kinds of weather conditions. Rain, Snow, Ice, Sleet, hot sun, -5 degrees, all conditions. We have a 38' TT and it saved our electrical system on several occasions. Once the Surge took a big hit from a Thunder storm, it saved our electrical system but since this item cannot be reset, we had to replace it, which I had no problem doing since it did its job. There are other times we found the CG Electrical post was mis-wired, thanks to the Surge Light synchronization. This Surge (50 amp) is a great product and has proven itself, at least in my world as noted in above FACTS. Very happy with this Surge. (tip: always plug the surge into the source, insure you have all 5 green lights before hooking into your RV)

Still happy after 2 years.
I bought it in Mar 2021 and it's worked perfectly. I budget my camping purchases and this seemed like a good deal. It's proved itself to be a good one and I feel good about it. Just thought I'd review it since it's been 2 years.

Worked for 4 years.
Four years of use and the surge protection stopped on it. No burned areas no tripped breakers anywhere. Been a good surge protector up to this point. Not sure why it stopped. Purchased Sep of 2021.

Great and then some.
First off, I'm an idiot. I have a 30 amp system and this is for a 50 amp system. I did check it out once and it did everything it was suppose to do. But the best part is, Campers Paradise, took care of me even though I was the idiot who didn't read the description fully. They are awesome and I think my replacement came from them as well. Shipping was fast and CS were great. The item would have been perfect, if I had the right system for it. But more important to me, was the customer service from Campers Paradise. Will definitely buy from them again. Thanks guys, you were awesome!!

All as expected
When I purchased my RV the pervious owner had told me a story that he had to replace the microwave and inverter ($2,000) because of a surge at an RV park he stayed at. So when I took my RV out I spyed other RV’s and this was the brand trusted by a few super fancy rigs. I followed suit and purchased one and haven’t had any problems. Its been easy to use and remove from the cord. My only suggestion is make sure you get the surge protector with the ends you want. I intended purchasing a 30 amp on both side but ordered a 30-50. I ended up buying a conversation plug from 50 to 30 but it ended up working out ok. Hopefully I’ll never have to rely on this working but it’s cheap insurance if I do…

I can confirm that it trips when detecting low voltage
Stayed at numerous campgrounds and always use this Southwire surge protector. Often, it is impossible for a buyer to know if a surge protector is doing anything. I can confirm that at one campsite with erratic and often low voltage, the surge protector would repeatedly kick off power to avoid "brownout" type conditions in the trailer. I was able to confirm with other testers that the voltage was low, and the campground host did eventually have it repaired and thanked me for the notification of the problem within that pedestal.
