Still works great in 2025
I was worried this battery might be old stock, but I put it into my iPod 3rd gen and it's been working great! Remember that if you're charging and 3rd gen you need to use Firewire, USB won't charge the battery

I installed it and it works. Not sure what more you need.
Is it the highest performing battery in the world I donโt know did it bring back to life and I buy that havenโt used for 15 years? Yep it sure did do I get to listen to music? I havenโt listened to in years? Yep it was all there.. Thank you for providing something I needed.

Youโll get a battery but youโll need to be patient.
This battery took about 3/4 of a month longer to arrive than it was supposed to but I eventually got it. The long wait time could be because I ordered it around the time trump announced the new tariffs. Either way I ended up getting it and it works great. I believe the battery life is good but I still havenโt gotten the iPod to boot up correctly so I canโt say for certain.

As others have posted, there is no "pry tool" included -- just a couple useless screwdrivers. I have a busy schedule and have tried here and there to pry open my iPod and install this battery, but have been unsuccessful. I have, however, been extremely successful in scratching the heck out of the previously pristine finish of my formerly perfectly-preserved iPod. Thanks to this product, I now have an iPod with a dead battery AND a ton of scratches. Eventually I'll probably get into it and install this battery, but for right now -- after two or three weeks with it -- this product has been 100% useless to me. Extremely frustrating. Good thing it was cheap (in every sense of the word). I just don't have time to keep trying this.

Made well, works well
This battery was used in an old Apple iPod gen 3. The battery was easy to install and it charged right up. The battery is holding a charge and the old iPod is working again. Customer service was excellent also.

Battery is good, but included tools aren't right for the job.
The battery is fine, but the tools are wrong. It includes a small flathead and small phillips. The plastic box is even shaped like there should be a prying tool in there. The included instructions also mention the prying step. If you use the flathead screwdriver, it might scratch the ipd pretty bad. Once inside, if you want to remove the screw on the board to tuck the battery wire under, you need a small torx, not phillips.

Excellent replacement battery
This battery was easy to install (check YouTube videos). The tools included werenโt particularly useful. Opening the case requires additional tools. Once installed it will power my IPod for 4-5 hours.

Great battery life
Do not use the included tools!! Haha. The battery life has been great and lasts as about 6 hours or so for me. Battery life hasnโt been properly displayed on my iPod since though but i dont know if any third battery is accurately displayed after installation. Would recommend and buy again if this one went bad

My 2003 iPod has been resurrected!
My 3G iPod's battery died a few years ago and I couldn't find a battery until now. Really easy to replace if you follow the YouTube video from Gadget Menders. The only thing I would add is, to make sure the iPod is working, after you've replaced the battery and inserted the hard disc, gently press on the hard disc. If the battery is good, you will hear the iPod start up. If not, the hard disc is not in contact with the port and you may get the folder icon with an exclamation mark on the screen. I used the tools as pictured and they worked. Really glad to have my iPod revived. One more thing - if like mine, your iPod is on Windows and you're now thinking of restoring it on your Mac, it's probably much better to leave it alone. I read somewhere that someone tried to do this and the "restored" iPod no longer works. You can add/delete songs on your Windows iPod using iTunes on your Mac - not a problem.

do your research
i watched the shortest video instructions. should have watched the longer one. tore the screen ribbon. mine needs soldering for the battery also. never got to try the battery.

It works!
I have no idea why I felt compelled to bring a 3rd gen iPod back to life, but this did the job.

Battery doesn't last long
These batteries are terrible. They charge fine, but I don't get more than a couple of hours use out of it, so I have to charge my ipod after every use. Not worth the money.
