They are water/splash resistant though! When closing, I've splashed large amounts of water on my legs, and my legs have stayed dry, and the water beaded off my pants leg, keeping them rather dry. Aside from the terrible one legnth fits all mindset behind these pants (is it really that hard to make a Large-short, Large-regular, and Large-long?) These are a great pair of pants. I'm mobile, I'm comfortable, I'm prepared, and I'm protected. I'll be considering these for my next pair too.
