A coloring book for adults? Who knew?
I wanted to get a coloring book for an adult who talked nostalgically about coloring as a kid. I thought I would end up with large teddy bears and fife and bugle drums. It turns out there is a whole world out there of adults who find coloring is a great stress-reliever and pass-time AND there are coloring books specifically for adults. I never knew this. What I was not prepared for was the quality and intricacy of these drawings. The person was excited when they opened the package and immediately forgot about the other (and more expensive gifts) talk about being a kid again!. I ordered a similar book and included them both in their own wrappings, given I as so satisfied with both, I am using this review to also cover the second book, since in all fairness they are both wonderful.

The best from the "wide tipped" series - always fun to see where they take you!
I've become a huge fan of Angie Grace books over the past few months and have acquired several. If you like patterns or mandalas, you will LOVE these books! What's not to love about this Flowers book for wide tipped markers? There's probably a reason there's also a "More Flowers" book - because this is one of the companions to the Pattern series you'll want to have! It's so much fun to pair this with the Flowers book from the Patterns series to create companion pieces. However, this is probably my favorite wide tipped book because each page feels like a complete picture even by itself. The flower is the centerpiece of the picture, but due to their nature you can almost treat them like a mandala or kaleidoscope....wherever your imagination pulls you! In other words, just because they are "flowers" doesn't make you feel constrained to color them as flowers. If you're looking for something with a decent amount of detail without tiny intricate spaces, you will enjoy this one.The books are about average size and square - easy to carry around and color pretty much anywhere. They are only printed on one side of the page. The paper works wonderfully with alcohol markers (Bic, Sharpie, Copic, Spectrum Noir, etc.) The designs are always a joy to color. Despite having a large series of books, each one feels truly unique and different.Yes, the paper is thin. I was not originally a fan of the paper until I realized how great the thin paper is for coloring with markers. Put a blotter page behind what you're coloring and don't get -quite- up to the edge with your marker, and it works like a charm. The thinner paper allows the color to "bleed" outward more, which helps create smoother coloring with overlap lines. Colored pencils work great on here too, as long as you aren't scratching at the paper or anything crazy.

Much needed "me time" for moms
We all need some "me time" where we take a break from the usual stress of day to day life. I found this adult coloring book and at first I thought I'd never have time to do it--but that's the whole point is it not? To MAKE time for yourself. When I got it I was impressed with the beauty of all the designs. Page by page, I flipped through and was very impressed with the scenes and flowers. Also, most of the pages have "colorable" pictures, meaning the spaces to color in are not all so tiny that you get a headache staying in the lines. Some of the designs are more detailed and intricate than others, and I started out opting for the designs with biggers spaces just so I could get a few done and have that sense of accomplishment. Within a few days, I ended up just sitting on the floor in front of my coffee table coloring during our usual evening shows. I was so relaxing and I think as adults we have a tendency to lose our creativity, so it felt so good to just color. It's a mindless, relaxing and very enjoyable way to spend time and you actually do feel better after doing it. I noticed myself feeling less tight in my shoulders from stress after taking some time to color and relax each night for a few weeks, and I was more patient with my kids. As a mom, I wasn't prioritizing self care enough, and having this book gave me an excuse to sit in peace and just be for a bit each night, while my hands filled in colors and created beauty. My kids were even excited to see some of my colored in pictures, and soon they were reinvested in drawing and coloring as well. Ladies, take time for yourselves. Find time to just "be" each day...coloring is a great way to do it and this book makes it easy. Let these gorgeous designs help you relax and de-stress.I'd recommend this book as a gift for anyone over the age of 7-8 years old, especially females that love flowers. My daughter has colored a few of the pictures, and I even considered giving this book to my mother in law as a gift for Mother's Day.

Too large
Angie Grace books are always beautifully drawn and interesting and this one is no exception, but in an attempt to make her drawings more suitable to use markers which cannot draw as fine a line as color pencils she has made these so large and open that I feel like I am painting a wall rather than a piece of art. If she could find a size halfway between her regular books and this that would be ideal. I did not want to give less stars although this is a major complaint for me because the pictures are very pretty and when I get finished painting the wall they do look lovely.

Love these designs
Love these designs, they are large coloring spaces for "quick" coloring. Designs are printed on only one side so that you don't ruin one on the back of a page. Paper is of good quality, but use a blotter sheet behind any design you are coloring with markers.

Great buy great find
I just got into color and i find it very smooth but some of the books can be overwhelming because it’s to detail and intricate and small but this book pictures are spaced better and larger color spacing. This is what i have been looking for. I have purchased 2 more
