Barbados Cherry Plant - Malpighia punicfolia - Acerola - Indoors/Out - 6" pot

The Barbados cherry tree arrived faster than I expected, but unfortunately the box had been crushed in a way that suggests that the "fragile" label was being deliberately mocked. I let the seller know after business hours had ended, and before the end of the night they had responded, and before I was awake the next morning a replacement tree was on the way.My heart sank when the new box arrived. It wasn't as bad as the first, but it was crushed all around the edges. I peeled the box away and gently shook out the packing peanuts, and the difference between the first tree and the second was night and day.I found three broken branches when inspecting the tree, two of which I pruned but the third I'm leaving be for the moment. The tree was full, compared to the few leaves clinging to the first, abused tree, and even had some blossoms (lovely, delicate scent).I watered it, placed it under a grow light, and watched it for a few days. Very few leaves have dropped (though most of the blossoms have, which I pretty much expected), and I am as pleased as I can be with both this tree, and my experience with this seller.Thank you for going above and beyond to make it right.

I have success from all of the fruit trees I have grown from this nursery.

Wish I could have got something older and bigger but it was what they said it was

I was nervous buying this online, but the reviews were great. It came packaged well with a note and instructions. If there were any issues they would address it. Fast forward a couple months and it’s still doing well. It produced one little fruit although there were plenty of flowers. I’m hoping next summer after keeping it inside for the winter it’ll produce more.

Arrived pretty quickly and was in great condition...Perhaps a little pale at the ends of the newest leaves due to its trip to me, but really quite hale and hearty looking. A really BEAUTIFUL little tree! Would (maybe will!) absolutely purchase again!

Update June 21, 2020: My plant is doing very well. I left the plastic around the pot to keep the moisture in. I water through a slit in the plastic on top of the pot. It will help it stay alive in Arizona in the 100F+ heat. Its in partial sun from the southeast about 5 hours a day. This seems to be working. I’m going to plant it in a larger pot once it gets a little larger.It doesn’t look like the advertised images in size. The plant, above the dirt, is about the height of my iPhone XR. The box was heavily damaged and the plants survived but looks dry and there were a couple tiny new leaves. It was package in the styrofoam peanuts—open it outside in a location that is dirt friendly and away from wind. I set it in my empty water fountain after I gave it water. I left the plastic on for now to help retain the moisture in our heat. I’ll move it to a pot with organic soil in a couple days. I didn’t see any bugs fly out so I’ll check it tomorrow thoroughly.I may file a complaint with the USPS. I’ve never seen a box so damaged.

Tree was whatever but definitely over priced.

Update: the original "lost" tree arrived finally. It's a little worse for being lost almost a month, but I think with some TLC it will make it. It obviously had to have been in great condition when it was sent to still have some green leaves after living in a box at the post office so long! I definitely recommend this company and will use them again!The first shipment never arrived, but the seller immediately made it right and the replacement arrived the next day. The little tree is healthy with a full set of leaves. I look forward to a day to pick the cherries with my granddaughters!
