It’s a seal…
I replaced both, did everything correct but the passenger side seal is leaking. I guess I’ll figure it out when I dig in again. I bought them because the drivers side was leaking. I usually have good luck with spicer.

This is the seal you must have when upgrading dana 30 axle shafts in your wrangler or Cherokee to the Super 30 chrome moly shafts it replaces seals inside the carrier and where the vacuum actuator that slides over and locks the passenger side axle together. The bigger shafts will not fit otherwise

Amazon matched these with my vehicle. 2016 jeep jku Installed correctly and these seals leaked almost immediately after install. They fit loosely on the shafts.. Had to rip everything out and redo with another set of seals that fit much much tighter..
