Sylvia Earle: Ocean Explorer (Heinemann InfoSearch: Women in Conservation)

I bought this for my 7 year o!d granddaughter, who is interested in science, and she absolutely loved it! It was a little below her reading level, so would be good for younger kids who are reading and also as a "story book", read by mom and dad or an older sibling.....or a Granny! And....the illustrations are lovely!

I really enjoyed reading this book about Sylvia Earle and seeing all the photos in it. She's one of my new heroes, and I know she must be just sick about the way our current US President is so flippant about climate change. Our coral reefs are rapidly dying, and humans are polluting the ocean like never before. [Sigh]

Every student in 6th grade should be required to read Sylvia Earle's books. She is a living legend. My daughter is a marine scientist at NOAA and heard her speak. Makes a great present for grandchildren.
