This regulator works great and saved me a good amount of money doing ...
This regulator works great and saved me a good amount of money doing it myself, but it is not an easy item to install if you have never done one before and the instructions are no help. My first attempt at installing this did not work (The window only went down about 4" and stopped). After figuring out was wrong I had to remove it and install it a second time. It was much easier to install the second time once I knew what needed to be done. There is a plastic part with three fingers that needs to be aligned perfectly so that the fingers slide into slots otherwise they will stop the window from going down. The best way I figured to do this was to completely remove the window glass and tape a flashlight looking down into the door so that I could help align the fingers from the window slot above. I also had to remove the plastic part from the original regulator and use it instead because there was a slight difference and because I bent it slightly trying to install it the first time. There are other things you need to be aware of like removing your speaker (pop riveted) from the original regulator and installing with rivets on the new one and that there is a wire harness and door handle cables that need to be removed. One of the connectors on the wire harness (The one going to the door lock) was very difficult to reach to release. The entire process took about three hours, but I know if I had to do it again I could do it in half that time. Overall it was a great value and worth that savings.

Great fit
This is the updated window register which includes ties to fit the round holes that secure the wiring harness. It fit perfectly in my 2007 Sonata. The installation has a lot of steps but is fairly straight forward. Watching a how-to video will help. Because of the number of steps, it’s easy to miss something. Great product so far.

Worked perfect
might as well do the power doorlock actuator and the power window motor and the light bulb in the door for when its opened. Window motor was still good but rusty goop around the gears. I wouldn't introduce that into a new regulator. If you have an old 06 07 08 it's just a matter of time before that power door module goes from carbon buildup from sparks. Replace it now, keep the old one (its repairable for no cost, just needs disassembly and cleaning). You dont want to undo all this work for 35 bucks. Make sure you're careful with the brittle plastic behind the door handle and everything is lined up. If you're a shady tree guy, just follow the YouTube videos. Don't forget the rusty Philips head screw after you slide off the outside door handel, or the side 8mm? bolt on the side you need to pop the plastic cover to access. Take your time watch the video. My 06 has been in the family since it was bought as a fully loaded new test model for dirt cheap. I've probably done every repair on it execpt the transmission rebuild by a friend. It will rust out before it dies. One last thing, these cars have a problem with the upper valve gaskets leaking oil on the alternator. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and spray your alternator with a full can of crc lectra electronics cleaner from top to bottom with an oil pan underneath as needed. I'm on the original alternator 14.4v.Edit: passanger side windown just slid down. I'm just going to jb weld it. Use better wire that doesn't rust.

Good fit bit a problem
Good fit but rubber caps of the old one don’t fit and doesn’t come with speaker plastic base or screws and bolts to change the old one to this new one since the old one is riveted and you have to drill them to get it out. No big deal

Buy this instead of buying from any Hyundai dealer!
Greetings,This part appears to be an exact Hyundai replacement part. It has a Hyundai logo stamped into the metal and a holographic Hyundai sticker. I'm guessing that Dorman and the other replacement company TYC are just buying these from Hyundai in quantity and reselling them for a smaller margin than the usual rip-off mark-ups you get when buying dealer parts. Also, you can get these same parts from a number of other on-line replacement auto parts suppliers. I suggest you go with whoever is cheaper. I purchased from Amazon even though I found one or two slightly cheaper places. That said, this part is slightly different than the original as other reviewers have noted. And guessing again, I'd say that it is just a case of Hyundai revising the part for whatever reason. The differences are small. Holes for the wire-tie downs for the cabling harness are round rather than oval, but the regulator came packaged with replacement wire ties that fit the holes. No big deal. Also, holes for the two rubber access plugs for getting to the glass mounting bolts are smaller in this part than in the original. The rubber plug for these are actually large, two-part deals with a grommet and a mating plug that's molded onto the grommet with a rubber hinge, and you fold the plug into the grommet. But the holes on this window regulator are too small for grommets to fit. One reviewer suggested covering the hole with tape and I almost did that. But there's a better solution; just cut the plug free from the grommet, and it turns out that the plug will then fit into the hole on its own! The plug might be a hair too large for the hole, but just push the center in a bit and the whole thing will become concave and then form a perfect fit! Again, no big deal. Finally, as another reviewer notes, the packaging is not good. The box from Hyundai is not adequate for shipping on its own, yet that's the way Amazon ships it. The bracket for the arm rest is sharp and does indeed end up poking through the box during shipping. There should have been some foam protection for this or the whole box should be placed in another box. Even so, my part was undamaged in shipping.Ah, and the speaker. It's true that the speaker is pop-riveted in place, but it's not difficult to drill out the aluminum rivets. One reviewer suggested that you need to replace the speaker with an aftermarket one. Nonsense. Just drill out the four rivets and get some sheet metal screws. I had trouble finding large enough ones in my junk box but did eventually. I'd say you need at least #10 by 1/2" screws but you might actually want #12 screws. If you are handy and patient, you can do this yourself much more cheaply than a dealer would, but it's not a fun job. There are you-tube slide-shows showing the process. I had trouble removing the old regulator because my window wouldn't roll down, and you need to roll it down a couple of inches to gain access to the bolts that hold the glass in place. And, I had trouble realigning the replacement unit into place. You can see in the photo the white plastic alignment fingers sticking out. These go into blind holes in the door and it took me a while to get this right. There's also an electrical plug for the door lock that's hard to reach and hard to disengage until you realize that you have to press on the wire hoop that releases its latch. I suggest you have an inspection mirror and flashlight handy. You do not need to remove the door lock despite what youtube says. All in all, it's doable if you want to save money. If you're not handy, nor patient, nor cheap - then - go to a dealer and let them rip you off. You'll pay dearly, but won't endure the frustration that we cheapskates do!...Thanks, for reading, Dave

Part arrived damaged. Very poor packaging
The price is very good. However the packaging is very poor. The flange that the door handle screws onto and the sheet metal along side of the lower pulleys was damaged in shipping. I was able to straighten everything good enough to function. Didn't bother sending it back for a replacement because unless they decide to improve the packaging, the replacement probably would have been damaged as well. Also, window runs up slower than I would like even though I lubricated the slides with lithium lubricant

Perfect Fit Like OEM Part
The part installs with an OEM perfect fit.Zero problems other than a tedious installation. Reviewed the install procedure on youtube for my car.Initially my window was up 1/2 inch in the back corner in the fully closed position but this minor issue disappeared after a loose cable connector was repaired.

Good replacement
This is the second one I got since I replaced the other side a couple of years ago and I'm satisfied with the ease of installation and instructions were minimal but sufficient. The only things could be better are the rubber dust covers to access the bolts for the window glass are useable but not ideal and the wiring clip holes aren't oval shaped so you need to remove the original clips and use the zip-ties provided. Other than that basically you get what you pay for.
