Teknor Apex NeverKink, 7612-50 Boat and Camper, Drinking Water Safe Hose, 1/2-Inch by 50-Feet Hose

This is the best drinking water hose I have ever seen or used. I have tried a couple other brands and they were too stiff, kinked easily and held those kinks unless coiled in a very big round. I find this Apex Neverkink to be the opposite. It is nice and flexible, and although it does kink, like any hose will if twisted or bent, it unkinks easily and the kinks don't "set"; they come undone easily and don't leave creases or wrinkles in the hose. It also has a nice collar on the end to help prevent kinking at the spigot/faucet. At this competitive price I personally believe this is the hose to get. I've left mine "under pressure" (hooked up with the spigot turned on) for months in the summer sun and it hasn't burst or had any problems. The white color is easier to see when mowing and doesn't get as hot as darker hoses. Although I question the realistic-ness of the "drinking water quality" certification on any synthetic hose, I do feel better using this type to fill my camper, water my garden, and do basic chores around the house. I read the reviews. I wanted a light weight garden hose. One that does not kink. This works great for me as a woman. It's bright white so I can see it easily also..day or night. I have no idea when they build houses why they only install maybe 2 water outlets but jeez contractors, put in about 20 for we who must water the yards, decks, plants or wash the dog! I got 2 of these. Great price/value for the quality. Slips easily over my small front gate to the one side yard. I actually dreaded hoses....kinking, tiny holes showing up, the heavy weight most like that of an elephant.. I'm back for a nozzle. I'm the hose girl gone wild now! My plants thank you, my dirty car thanks you too~Arrived on time/packaged well. ***UPDATE // Hoses are still going strong as of April 25, 2015 !! No leaks, no kinks, no problems at all !! Like new and they've been left out in the hot sun 24/7 since purchase and all weather elements. This is one top quality hose! Easy to see too.

I like the hose and its claim to not kink is true. However after reading a lot of the reviews about it being so light I was surprised that when full of water it is not that easy to maneuver or roll up even when empty. Having said that I am 60 and disabled so I dont have a lot of pulling strength. For someone with moderate physical abilities I think this hose would be fine and much much better than any other hoses on the market and belive me I've tried a lot of them. Another big plus is that duue to the materials used in its construction water is much safer to drink for a human, a animal, or even watering your garden vegetables. Even the "Pocket Hose" which is indeed light and perfect as far as weight for some one with my extent of disability seemed perfect but it lasted less than a week before bursting. Lots of stories all over about that.

I purchased this garden hose in 2011 mostly for NeverKink feature and light weight. This is 1/2 in diameter hose so the water flow is limited, and this hose did not supply enough water for my small pressure washer which needed a 5/8 in diameter hose. This hose is light so easy to move around, and good for small yard/garden. The hose did kink even in early on, but once the outer sleeves started to deteriorate under California sun, the kink became a major issue, but still usable. I replaced the end coupling twice, otherwise the hose lasted almost 12 years. The hose finally failed when the inner rubber tube was exposed due to the outer sleeves started to come off in several places, and I forgot to shut off the faucet and hose remained pressured. Of course, the inner rubber tube busted open while I was away, and left water running for several hours. I still rate this hose a five star.

This hose did it's job for years. However once the sun cracked the hose showing me their UV protection was not strong I tried to return the two hoses I bought. They had me destroy the hose ends then when I posted pictures to their online return questioner their support rep sent me. They ask a bunch of stupid questions like, have you ever left the hose unattended? I believe this was the question I answered yes to and at the end of all the questions, cutting off the hose ends as request and uploading photos they said the product could not be returned under warranty. I have two lifetime warranty hoses that got destroyed completely during the return process and they ended up in the trash.

The one thing I've always hated about gardening is hoses--until I found this one. When I opened the hose the first time, I was able to uncoil it easily and then hang it on a holder with much less hassle than my other hoses. It's lightweight and easy to handle. I'm so pleased with it, I'm replacing all my hoses with this type. Although we don't usually drink out of the hose, I do fill my dog's water bucket and with my current hose, I have to let it run for several minutes because of the milky, soapy water that comes out at first. That can't possibly be good for the dog or anything else. That doesn't happen with this hose. I get clear water immediately. This hose is white with a blue stripe, which is great for a boat or RV, but a little glaring in the yard. Still it's so much easier to use I can live with that. I have to move one of my hoses several times in dry weather to hook to different soaker hoses and some things need to be hand watered, so weight and manageability are really important to me and this hose scores a 10.
