Reliably excellent
My husband swears by these shirts, wearing these Columbia" fishing" shirts every single day for years. At the office, out to dinner, to weddings and funerals (might want to avoid the bright colors for the latter), and for -- you guessed it -- fishing. He works in the field doing conservation work, as well as on our little hobby farm. These shirts are perfect for this lifestyle because:1) Columbia offers them in his size. He is 6'8" and lean, so it's hard to find clothes that fit in the chest and also sleeve length. These are perfect in LT for him.2) The style is perfect for casual, sporting, or professional casual. He wears them to work every day like a uniform.3) As an avid outdoorsman, he fishes, hunts, kayaks, gardens, etc. These shirts are lightweight. vented, and quick to dry, don't snag easily, block UV rays to prevent sunburn thru his shirt, and are cut for full range of movement without coming untucked or squeezing the shoulders.4) Light enough to wear under a sweater or fleece in winter but also light enough to wear on a 100 degree day without adding bulk and heat. Or put a warm layer underneath for those chilly spring and fall days.5) The roll up sleeves are awesome for flexibility.6) Very wrinkle resistant. (Happy wife!)7) They wash brilliantly and are very stain resistant. I once got roofing tar out of one of these shirts with a little WD40, corn starch, and Dawn dish soap. No joke!7) They come in enough colors to give his wardrobe variety and personality.8) The pockets are handy for all kinds of things, beyond fishing.Cons:1) Pricy! But worth it. Most of our Columbia OFF clothes wear for YEARS, then when they start fading and the stains get set, they become true work shirts for the really messy jobs like cleaning the garage or a deer, or reshingling the roof.2) When they do wrinkle, they like to keep 'em. Ironing them is not my favorite task, but it's rare. Usually the corners of the pocket flaps or the collars start turning upward. As long as Columbia is making these in our sizes, we'll be buying them. The brand isn't pretentious enough to put ridiculous sized logos on their cloths, so the versatility is unparalleled. You won't regret these shirts if you live an active lifestyle!

I own over 20 of these shirts
These are the best shirts ever. I literally own over 20 of them. I lost count. I'm probably up to 24 or 25 now. I bought the first one about 12 years ago and I still wear it regularly. They last forever. These are the only shirts I wear.I like them because...1) I sweat a lot. These are great for people who sweat because they wick the moisture away and they dry very quickly, unlike cotton.2) They are very cool in the summer. Even the long sleeve ones. With long sleeves, the light-colored ones keeps the sun off your arms, but they are still cool and comfortable.3) I have saggy moobs because I'm 57 years old and I lost some weight. Golf shirts look terrible on me because my my moobs. But since these shirts aren't stretchy they hide my moobs!4) They are great for concealed carry! In the summer I'll wear a shoulder holster under these lightweight shirts. Since they aren't form fitting the weapon doesn't show. Can't do that with a golf shirt. Of course, I have to clean it pretty regularly since I sweat a lot, but a shoulder holster under this shirt is way more comfortable than an IWB holster. The ONLY thing I don't like about these shirts is the color selection. The come in something like 30 colors, but most of them are too flashy or pastel for my taste.

Perfect shirt for Florida summers
I see these shirts everywhere in Florida and didn’t want to be just another middle-aged guy with this shirt. Guess what? After trying several different hot weather shirts, I was forced to admit this shirt is perfect for the hot, humid weather here. They are light, comfortable, and versatile. They are well made and come in at a reasonable price point for the quality.I also tried the Tamiami II, but I find I prefer the slightly stiffer fabric of the Bahama II. It is still feather light and cool, but feels better against my skin. In order the long sleeves as I often need to protect my arms from the sun. The easy-to-use safari straps in the sleeves work well to quickly convert them to short sleeves. They are full cut - you may need to order a size smaller, but I enjoy the loose fit. I tried competitor Kühl shirts, but they are all sized for long distance runners under 30. I am not *that* overweight, but this shirt is just perfect for my needs.Yeah, I am now just another guy with a Columbia PFG shirt, and I see why they are so popular. I surrender.

Great but pricey
Living in Southern Arizona, this shirt is like owning an expensive coat up north in the winter. These really cut the heat. I consider it essential summer gear. If my car breaks down or I otherwise unexpectedly have to walk a bit in this 110F heat, these shirts are unbeatable. The nylon fabric is really good at keeping you cool especially once youre sweating a bit. The back venting is really great when there's some breeze, the air just flows thru the shirt while you are still protected from the scorching sun. Only giving this 5 stars because its such a great product, and my other Columbia products (backpack etc) have also been SUPER DURABLE for years now.

Order a size down
As others have said, this shirt is oversized. I'm 6' tall, 170 lbs, with fairly wide shoulders. My other shirts are all large, but medium fit me best in this shirt, providing adequate sleeve length. The large was like wearing a tent. That said, this seems to be a well-made shirt overall. Some of the button holes are very tight, and loose threads around some of the holes tended to snag buttons. As a technical garment for fishermen or other sportsmen requiring gusseted pockets and lots of little loops and eyelets, I think it could be very useful. For more general travel and hiking (my purpose), it's a bit overconstructed and slightly heavier than I'd like. I prefer the simpler (and slightly cheaper) NAVISKIN Men's Sun Protection Fishing Shirt, also on Amazon.
