These are the ones you want
Excellent binoculars for a first pair for a kid, or even for adults who want a rugged, inexpensive pair. One feature of these that's especially important for kids, compared to others marketed for them, is that they are 6-power rather than the much more common 8-power. Lower power doesn't provide quite as much magnification, of course, but that's a big advantage in binoculars intended for kids. They're easier to focus than an 8-power, the biggest challenge for someone learning to use binoculars, and it's much easier for the kid to find the object they want to view when looking through the binoculars. Nice design, good optics, a fair price. My five-year-old grandson loves them. The only negative is that the included wrist strap isn't very useful, it will get in the way of an active kid, and finding a neck strap that will fit through the strap holes is a challenge. I drilled out the holes a little and used a heavy-duty elastic shoelace as a strap. Works great.

Working fine, good for kids hands
2019 SeptOur 3 year old was always asking to use our 1970's binoculars to view the moon and airplanes (we live on flight path), but now she has her own (autonomy) and can easily transport them for other exploration. For example, we've looked for birds, lightning, and cars' headlights from our hikes overlooking a highway.Bought them for gifts too (6xs so far) and will return to give feedback.Note: (1) out of (6) had to be returned due to incorrect assembly of the lenses. Return process was lightning quick!Note 2: register your Explore One 6x21 at the website: explorescientificusa dot com to get extended warranty (pretty good customer service too).

ExploreOne 6x21 Binoculars
I bought 2 for birthday gifts for 2 young boys. I opened one of them and gave it a cursory inspection. It felt solid, substantial, and well made --- a REAL pair of binoculars made with youngsters in mind rather than a toy pretending to be the real thing. They were just the kind of thing that I look for --- a NICE thing to give and something that's likely to LAST. You can get away with less for sure, but by and large I think the old adage applies --- you get what you pay for. How will they hold up over time? Who knows? But my guess is they will do just fine. As noted, they come with a wrist strap and a carry case with belt loops. I agree with another reviewer that it would've been nice to have a neck strap as well, or even instead of the wrist strap, especially since this is intended for kids. I'm pleased with them.

Great for children
I bought these for my 4 year old to look out our window at the traffic. The crispness of the image is great, and it is very easy to hold. The binoculars are sturdy, having been dropped several times and the image is still aligned. There are two focuses - one is the middle knob, which focuses both left and right. It is a bit tricky for little fingers, but my 7-yr-old can work it with no problem. There is also a separate focus on the right lens, to make the image perfectly focused. The binoculars have a wide enough width that my little one can look through it, and I can adjust it for myself. These are really great binoculars and I have recommended them to friends. Delivery was fast and quick, and seventeen dollars (what I think I paid) is a really great deal. I would definitely recommend these to parents looking for real binoculars that are sturdy enough for their kids. We had a previous pair by a different manufacturer, made for adults, that weren't as sturdy nor as crisp.

They have a nice FOV, which is good because the 6x magnification ...
These compare favorably to my Bushnell binocs of similar spec. The image is bright, clear, and void of obvious optics issues. They appear to be rugged and well made, and will fit a 2 year old's face - and will grow with him for a number of years. Of three pair of sub $20 kids bino's I purchased; these were the most expensive but also the clear winner. They have a nice FOV, which is good because the 6x magnification will be a tad shaky in a kid's hands. Compared to the educational insights 2x kids binos (which are only a toy) and the vivitar 5 x 30 binocs (which are of the worst quality) these are far better. I'm buying a second pair as a gift.

Great for kids. Let them learn and if it breaks, not the end of the world.
Really Nice Little Binoculaters. The focus is not very sharp even at appropriate viewing distances. That being said the reason I got these binoculars is that I want my child to have something that is of decent quality but at the same time I won't be worried about her damaging. In time when she is ready would definately need to upgrade to something of better quality but great for her to learn and share experiences. The 6X magnification is good for children. Gives enough power that they have to hold still but at the same time it isn't super shaky.

Very good quality - they actually work as advertised
The quality of these binoculars surprised us - in a good way. These are "real" binoculars as opposed to the toys that don't really magnify the scene. You can adjust the zoom of these as with "adult" binoculars. They are build out of rugged plastic, and adjust to almost any face size (from adult to small child). The only real negative was there was no neck strap. The package came with a wrist strap, but that is not really practical for a young child (ours is 5, going on 6). We are very happy with the purchase, and our son loves them.

Perfect for the outdoor toddler
My husband spends a lot of time outside looking at birds, catching bugs, and just exploring nature in general. He has a very nice pair of binoculars and as our toddler got bigger he wanted to play with them and be like daddy. We had ordered one pair of binoculars that turned out to be made out of cheap plastic and easily broke. Not these. They are much more heavy duty, stand up to the destruction of a toddler, and actually work as binoculars. My son takes them with him when he goes hiking with his dad and they can explore together. They are exactly what we wanted them to be.

Perfect for a young naturalist
Bought as a present for a five year old, he has experience of using binoculars at the forest school he attends. We had bought and returned similar specification binoculars which were not fit for purpose - the focussing mechanism failed out of the box. Always worth testing a product before giving it as a gift.Knowing the Bresser name and for little more money bought these. Not only does the focus adjustment work it is easier to adjust than on the other binoculars. There is eyepiece focus adjustment to correct any imbalance between the user's eyes. Gives a sharp and surprisingly bright image.Full instructions, case and strap are supplied. Grandson was delighted.Would also be suitable for an adult who wants low magnification binocular.

Useful little binoculars
Bought these for my 6 year old after he broke a cheap pair of binoculars. The previous ones were really only toys and not very robust at all. These are much better and are proper binoculars (roof prism) as opposed to field glasses like the last ones. These have diopta adjustment and central focus that work fine. They are solidly made and look like they will take the odd knock (although aforementioned son is not being allowed unsupervised access...). Unlike a previous reviewer, I see no problem with the alignment of the two tubes. The image is quite good, but obviously not what you would get with an expensive pair of binoculars. Perfectly adequate for junior use. They appear to be made in Germany and have a 5 year guarantee.I would have given it 5 stars except for a rather obvious ommision which even the cheap broken pair of binoculars had - a neck strap. These have a wrist strap, which seems utterly ridiculous. Kids will find ways to knock these things about without intentionally attaching them to their hands! I guess this is because of some perceived safety issue associated with cords and childrens' necks. Since children should only use such items under adult supervision anyway, I don't really see the inclusion of a neck strap as a concern. I will be seeing if I can attach a neck strap to these.

Outstanding quality
These are excellent binoculars - image is sharp and clear, focus is simple for a child and the build quality is outstanding. They are a perfect set of binoculars for a child or as a good quality adult set. For the price they are excellent value. If you are considering binoculars for your child, it’s worth paying just a little bit more to get this quality.

Not Bresser - just cheap made in China products- feeling ripped off!!
The product received was a cheap made in China set of binoculars and not the German constructed Bresser binoculars as the listing suggests. For £20.80 I am totally dissatisfied and returning for a full refund.I ordered the Bresser binoculars both fur their ease if use for children as I had been recommended and also because my son’s favourite colour is green. The binoculars received are blue! I am disappointed!

A Present for a small boy
I wanted binoculars for my 5 yr old grandson and these are small and robust and will survive a lot of rough treatmeny. I also like the colours. However the packaging was not good. The cardboard box was ripped in one corner and the edges looked a bit worn. The plastic inside the box used to wrap the binoculars was crumbled and so I assume that they had been returned at some point and what I received was not first hand, which is a shame but I do not supposed a 5 yr old will notice. Cannot be bothered with returning them just for the packaging.
