As they say, the third time's the charm. I was given suggestions directly from Honeywell as to the suitable replacements for my old mercury heat-only 2-wire thermostat for baseboard heat. It did not help that products I was able to view in the big-box stores that looked very similar all indicated "NOT for baseboard heat". I purchased two different digital thermostats for line-voltage. Well, it turns out my two round thermostats are low-voltage, and not line-voltage. Once I confirmed this, I zeroed in on low-voltage thermostats, and found this nice simple unit. That's all I need, and it fit the bill perfectly. I have a second one on order to replace my other round mercury thermostat. For some bizarre reason, all the other thermostats throughout the house are 4-wire line-voltage thermostats.

I had never replaced my own thermostat before but this was a very easy DIY job. First, shut off power to the thermostat just to be ultra safe. Remove the old thermostat by unscrewing from the wall and loosening the screws holding the wires. Attach the Honeywell backplate (luckily the screw holes of this new Honeywell were in the same exact location as my 40-year-old thermostat....maybe the attachment holes are universal?) Attach the wires to the screws inside the thermostat and install the 2 batteries that come with the thermostat. The only note I will add here is that you will need a very small flathead screwdriver to attach the wires...not as small as an eyeglass screwdriver, but fairly tiny. After installation I pressed the up arrow to a few degrees warmer than the current room temp and I immediately heard our basement heat start clicking on. Success!

It’s a basic two-wire digital t-stat, and does what it advertises. My only criticism is that you can hear an audible click when the heat cycle starts and stops. We have it in the living room, and it’s a bit annoying hearing it while watching a movie. If you’re the type that needs a dead quiet bedroom, don’t put this in there.

I have an electric wall heater that is controlled by a manual thermostat that works okay but is difficult to set at a precise temperature setting. I wanted one that had an accurate digital display and setting and researched several on the market and chose to try this one. Installation was simple and a big improvement. I was able to select a precise temperature and not guess the temp with the older thermostat. Set the temperature you want and it will hold that setting until you manually adjust to a different temp. An additional bonus is the lighted display!

Easy to install and simple to use.

We bought two of these to use with our gas garage heaters. The previous owner had analog, hard to read, old mercury type thermostats. They were not accurate, nor the easiest to use. These were so easy to install that I had both of them up in less than 10 minutes. And no, I'm not exaggerating. The fact that I can now set them lower, since I know they're accurate and not have to worry about my garage freezing will end up making them pay for themselves soon, and saving us money in the long run. Well worth the investment.

I used this product for a wall furnace and it worked exactly how it is supposed to. Easy to install replacing my old one. Didn't need to call a professional. Very happy with it and would highly recommend it.

I needed a basic thermostat for my fireplace with no complicated programming technology and it was easy to install.

It’s running way past set temps and leaving the house 2 Celsius warmer and than you have to wait 40 plus minutes for it to drop and than it ramps up the heat all over. Maybe I got a busted unit. Sending back.... seller refunded me without any issues...
