Delta Faucet U4900-PK Vacuum Breaker, Chrome,0.50 x 0.50 x 0.50 inches

This is what you need to install between your overhead shower rain cans and the pipe they connect to to prevent constant dripping from your rain cans. Note that Delta uses IPS (straight pipe) threads and not NPT (tapered) threads so you should plan to use extension tubs that are threaded straight (so just order everything Delta and you'll be fine, e.g. don't mix Delta and non-Delta parts). I wish Delta wouldn't price-gouge for their nickel-finished vacuum breakers, but the chrome finish on these is close enough that most people wouldn't notice the difference because of where they are located.

Works as expected on our shower wand; drains the water to prevent mold on the wand.

We have a 2006 Airstream and our inlet shower assembly started spraying out from the vacuum breaker when shower was on. We didn't even know what a vacuum breaker was! After much searching, we found this beautiful plumbing fixture (beautiful cuz it FITS and it WORKS!). It was easy to install and the quality seems legit. On an "Airstream" supplies website, a similar item was close to $50 (+ shipping). We've tried to repair and replace items in the RV ourselves which has saves us a lot of time, money, and bother. I won't say there aren't challenges and frustration, but in the end, it's pretty satisfying.

I am giving this a 5 star rating but I have not used it very long. This is a pricey item for what it does since it just a check valve. The OEM price was twice what I paid so I am happy. The quality seems good and it looks to be chrome plated over brass. The weak point of this type of device is the check valve. You cannot see what the mechanism is made of but it is the weak point since the fail over a period of time. Since it is a Delta product I am hoping it last a long time in our RV. This item is comparable to Alsons 4900 series which is the one I just replaced.

This vacuum break was easy to install and it worked well. I couldn’t find it in bright brass but stainless steel was acceptable.

Worked well on my Sunrise Specialties hand shower. Even though the instructions mention that it may drip slightly at lower water pressure, it was only a drip or two as I slowly turned the hand shower on and off (which is way better then the Hansgrohe vacuum breaker that I started with).Only reason for 4 stars is that the washer on the input side was a bit tougher to get seated than need be.

Keeps large rain shower head from leaking between use. Eventually needs to be re-tightened to maintain function.
