Wonderful but very large knife
This is a long knife and can feel a little unwieldy because of that. If you need the extra length though it is extremely well balanced and a delight to use. Very useful for cutting large cabbages, big piles of herbs, etc., where a normal-sized knife just isn't quite long enough. This knife oozes quality :0)

Superb sharp
As sharp as a Samurai sword. It's extra weight as compared to an 8 inch cooks knife gives it an extra advantage in cutting pumpkin and heads of cabbage. Highly recommended.

Rasoio perfetto!
Dopo qualche prova in cucina, sono rimasto estremamente soddisfatto! Il coltello è di qualità suprema, ma da wüsthof e da un coltello forgiato non si poteva pretendere di meno.É un coltello possente sia in termini di grandezza che di peso, con un'impugnatura comoda, probabilmente non adatto a chi ha un braccio poco muscoloso, ma anche no, data il suo essere estremamente bilanciato. Taglia con una semplicità disarmante, quindi attenzione alle dita! Leggermente appoggiato sul polso, ha rimosso tutti i peli ed ha scorticato la pelle.E che prezzo.... praticamente Amazon lo vende se non a metà prezzo, poco ci manca.Ne comprerò sicuramente altri!

that the larger knife provides much better leverage and power
I got this 10" knife at the suggestion of Sara Moulton from her recent cook book. She suggests that women should not be afraid to use larger knives and in fact, that the larger knife provides much better leverage and power. Well I can attest to that. I no longer have any trouble tackling a large cantaloupe or deboning a turkey with this knife. I chose Wusthof because we have been slowly adding to our collection of knives over 30 years, and the Wusthofs have held up best and take to hand sharpening well. This knife arrived ultra sharp and after several months still has a keen edge.

Good Tools Are a Pleasure
I bought a couple of Henckels, including a second 10" chef's knife, while waiting for this one. (My first order got lost in shipment). I'm glad I didn't cancel this one. Both Henckels and Wusthof use outstanding steels, but I was surprised to see the difference even though Wustof and Henckels were once the same comnpany. The Wusthof version is slightly heavier (which I like) but the most notable difference is the Henckels 10" chef's is somewhat tip-heavy, while the Wusthof is perfectly balanced. Having a balanced knife makes proper use of it much easier. I had alway bought Wusthof for aesthetic quality differences (albeit those are minor). But having been able to do a direct comparison, Wusthoff wins.

Fantastic Blade
Finally decided to replace my old cheap 8" knife, and let me just tell you the difference in quality is off the charts. The moment I picked it up I knew that it would be eons better than what I was used to.Cuts like butter, keeps an edge (and I use this thing all the time), great length for all kinds of tasks, and has a good weight to it. Buy it. Get a blade guard and keep your baby safe & secure.
