1/4 Inch Golberg Samson Spot Cord - 100 Feet Hank - Sash Cord - Cotton Cover with Nylon Core

The first thing I noticed about this cord was that it didn't have spots. I've used @ a dozen 100ft hanks of Samson Spot Cord restoring windows the last couple years, and they all had spots. So I'm not really sure what this is. It has a sticker that says it's Samson Spot Cord, and it feels, looks, and is packaged about the same. It's nicer than Buffalo sash cord, which I used a bunch too. I was going to return it since it sorta isn't what I thought I was buying, but decided to give it a try. It is made in the USA. 3 stars since it feels like it was misrepresented.

I refurbished 35 double hung windows in a 95 year old house and this cord is in every window. I painted our trim a bright white which reveals this cord to not be white at all, but kinda off-white creamy. Doesn’t bother me, I think the red spots (diamonds) look baller and I’m so proud of my many working windows.

I'm using this to rebuild some windows in a 300 year old house, it works wonderfully, and is quiet and smooth in operation. One tip, don't expect that you'll be able to push this down from the top if you're doing a very old window, it won't go. Use some sash chain as a leader to bring it down into your weight pocket if the old cord isn't there.

There are cheaper cord out there, but cheaper is also cheap. Get the good stuff, and you won’t have as many issues as the years go on. Also, I just think the red dot cord matches the vintage look better.
