It is made of plastic. I thought it was made with stainless steel, It is also much smaller and lighter than I thought it would be.

The measurements for this scale are not accurate. It is not 8". It is 5.5 x 4.25. I was a bit disappointed because I can't see the small container holding 2 lbs. of anything.

It works nicely to weight food. The entire thing is plastic, but seems to be reasonably accurate - so no complaints. The top container is easy to clean after each use and the rest can simply be wiped down with a damp dish rag.

Although not digital, this scale was the easiest to read because the weight limit is a bit over two pounds and the dial is large. You do need to be able to read tape measure type presentation of fractions and convert to whole numbers. Neither my husband or I need our reading glasses to read the exact weights. The adjustment dial to calibrate zero is easy to find and use. We keep the bowl upside down on top of the scale while stored on the shelf. Attractive enough to display on the wall shelf along with all of the other chrome items. The plastic chrome finish does not look cheap even though the scale is lightweight plastic. Packaging was solid and shipment was quick. Would highly recommend if you want an easy-to-read scale to measure smaller portions. We use is most for four ounces of meat.

Opened the box- noticed dial was not set appropriately. I read the directions and attempted to set dial to read "0". It would never correctly set. After 10 minutes of failed attempts, the reset mechanism broke completely. Made in China.The design concept was appealing, and I like that the plastic bowl is removable. Save your money-- don't buy this scale.

It's way cheaper looking than it looks here, but it gets the work done.

If you want an extremely precise scale, this isn't for you. It is accurate enough for our purpose; we make a huge meal, portion it out, and freeze the portions so we don't have to cook every night. Love that the scale fits in the bowl for storing. My only complaint is that the bowl isn't dishwasher safe, but I manage to somehow overcome my lazyness and handwash it. Nice and inexpensive, too.
