I think they will enjoy making the items in this book and it looks ...
I ordered this to use with my kids as part of our first and second grade home school curriculum. I was really wanting to have a compilation of projects and patterns to use with them that I did't have to spend tons of time seeking out and making sure that they were at the level of knitting appropriate for them. This book appears to have what I wanted. I grouping of projects that children can knit. I think they will enjoy making the items in this book and it looks like I will be able to help them as I am a novice knitter as well. I was however a bit disappointed that there wasn't a better variety of projects in this book. It is comprised entirely of patterns and projects to make small toys and animals. None the less it still seems to be worth its value as my kids will enjoy creating the projects and I will be able to understand the directions. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for projects for children.

Great first knitting book for children
I had used the former edition of this book as a former Waldorf School handwork instructor. I ordered this when my four yer old granddaughter asked me to teach her to knit. I highly recommend this edition for anyone who wants to teach knitting to children. Much more appealing then other kids knitting books.

Not only for children
This an extremely engaging little book of simple animal knits. Unfortunately my grandchildren are past this age but the animals are cute fast and fun to knit for little gifts, for either children or adults. It would be a good book to teach one's self to knit, as the information is so clearly presented. It is a british book. I expect that is why it is not discounted more heavily.

wonderful waldorf knitting
This is probally the best childrens knitting book that I know of. Its wonderful step by step illustrations will show a child begining to knit how to. The progects are things that children would actually want to knit. Animals mostly which is wonderful for them to play with after. Also know that some basic sewing with yarn skills would be needed to sew up the animals when completed. A great first knitting book for children.

Great book for kids.
My three grand-daughters, ages 6, 8 and 11, love this book and have all knit animals. The 6 and 8 year old need help, of course, but are decent knitters as long as someone is there to smooth out the mistakes.

Simplicity
This book is the easiest to understand from the rhymes to remember to the patterns of the best toys. It's a great help to the children and I find myself loving all that is in there.

Has the songs for Waldorf knitting
Cute book but did not help in instructing first graders how to knit, especially after they had learned to finger knit. The speed of finger knitting was far more enjoyable that using those knitting pins. Donated the book to the classroom.

Okay but outdated.
Okay. A lit bit out of date, not sure how well this is going to excite kids to learn to knit. But happy to have it in my library.

Great book, not sure whether my grandchildren - when ...
Great book, not sure whether my grandchildren - when younger - would have been able to knit the toys, especially getting the ears and eyes right. They definitely would not have been able to make the mane. But as a pensioner I found it suited me.
