No CDs!
I was led to believe that there would be a CD or a set of two CDs narrated by Debra Messing. There were no CDs! This was so disappointing that I haven't even taken the opportunity to peruse the book. What happened to the promised CDs?

Don't miss this treasure by a master storyteller!
How do we transmit to our children the values most precious to us? Storytelling is one of the most powerful and engaging ways children learn. Shoshana Boyd Gelfand is a master storyteller and teacher. Each of the eight beautifully illustrated and magically told stories mezmerized my children (ages 6 year old) -- though book is easily appropriate for children as young as 4 or 5 and as old as early teens, as well as for adults. Each story contains a universal moral lesson rooted in Jewish litergy. One delightful story conveys the message that things aren't always what they appear to be, and we must sometimes search more deeply for why things that don't make sense on the surface happen. Another story teaches us that what matters in life is not how clever we are, but how kind. The book has three particular content strengths, in addition to its format strengths(e.g., lovely, rich illustration; CDs): First, each story conveys a Biblical teaching in a way that is easy to understand, not preachy, and accessible to Jews and non-Jews alike. Second, many of the characters have strong female roles, which you don't see in typical Bible stories. Third, the stories trigger precious conversations with my children. The CDs are a wonderful addition, especially for car rides.I would love to see a companion discussion guide.Author Shoshana Gelfand has a unique strength for storytelling and creating opportunities for parents and children to talk about values. Those who have seen her in action (in TED talks, among other places), know this about her. Now, many more of us have access.

Gorgeous book of tales with beautiful illustrations
This became a firm family favourite very quickly. Great retelling of some truly wonderful, beautiful, magic Jewish folk tales and legends. And brought to life by absolutely beautiful illustrations. My 3 and 6 year old love all the stories in this book and I'm sure it will remain a favourite for years to come.
