Ball Studs prevent concussion
These ball studs worked great to repair the glass hatch door on a pick-up topper. The original ball studs were pressed onto brackets and became too loose to hold lift supports. Using a prop on the hatch door worked OK, unless wind dislodged it causing the 20 lb. door to drop on your head (quite painful). With some adaptation on hatch frame brackets the new threaded ball studs attached perfectly and hatch door is working like new.

Durable
I needed a replacement for my tonneau cover shock studs, and these fit perfectly. If you get these, make sure you get the right size.

the studs are great. the base of the ball seems a little bigger then OEM (it's a very snug fit into the strut), however after reading similar product reviews apparently it's an issue with the ball snapping off so not really an issue. Unfortunately I didn't tap the hole correctly and stripped the beginning of the threads. I rated this a 4 because I believe for the price it should of been made out of a higher grade steel (maybe a 440 type?).

Too new to judge
What can you say about studs? They're new now. If they don't rust out in a reasonable amount of time they'll be great. They are being used on a boat latch. If they do well over a few years I'l be happy. I loaded them with grease upon installation to forestall them prematurely rusting.
