These snares are durable and work quite well. It takes some practice to get the lobster into the snare. I recommend going from the tail of the lobster and have them jolt backwards while tightening the rope. Most of the lobster are fairly skiddish whenever anything touches them. Those purchasing this in CALIFORNIA should know that it is ILLEGAL to use any snares. The only methods of catching lobster is by free hand or the hop nets. Florida has more relaxed laws.

Looks promising.
Only time will tell if this holds up but it looks promising. I gave it a 5 for durability but won’t know til after a few successful outings. I think the price would be fair if it were 18-24” longer. But hey I wanted it and paid for it at the price they offered.

Great snare at a lower price.
This snare much less expensive on Amazon than the local dive shop and it works well. Just don't use it like a tickle stick, jamming it into rocks and it will hold up.

Got a good few lobsters with it
Works very well! Got a lot of lobsters with it. However after a couple of years the loop totally loses its shape making it difficult to use.

I got mine!
I treat things badly, and more so when lunch is at steak, so the first one of these I owned (going on 7 years?) is now sleeved in PVC pipe and epoxy. It has been through some ridiculous wear and tear but always operated as it should and I have never found fault with its design. It took the eventual wearing out of the cable for me to get a new one. If you know what the cable looks like when it's new, you'll know that I got a LOTof lobster with this product. Couldn't be happier.

great tool!
great tool !! depending on the type of ledge or crevice you're working in you can simply use as a tickle stick to walk them out...or tighten the noose all the way up and help prod them out...or slip the loop under the bug and tighten on their tail...has a quick release button to undo which works real well and I like the plastic tube around the noose to keep from hurting the undersized lobsters when snaring them...Great product !!

I bought a cheaper version last year, didn't have the medal wiring. This is great as you can tighten and use to tap the lobster from behind. You may need to practice with the locking mechanism to be proficient at loosening the snare while still behind the lobster. Works great and love how it locks when you pull tight around the lobster, especially when it's wiggling to get free.
