Sturdy and strong
Smaller than expected. Check the images. But very very sturdy. Has induction bottom.Update: After two weeks of use, there is something wrong with it. Rainbow colors forming in the bottom and the middle container. Go for something else. I doubt it's made from a pure metal. Some oxidation of unnatural kind is happening.

A convenient and useful gadget, but handle with care
I used the gadget to steam some Bok Choi (Chinese cabbage). I steamed it for 10-15 minutes and it came out fine, despite the steam leakage from the sides of the lid. I also steamed broccoli and it was cooked in 5-10 minutes. A third item I steamed was dhokla mix. I put the mix in small foil containers and put the containers with the mix in the steam compartment. It came out very well -- light and fluffy. I steamed dhokla mix in a pressure cooker also and found that there was no difference -- dhokla made in this steamer was as good as dhokla steamed in a pressure cooker without the weight on top.I have found the gadget to be convenient and useful. So much for the positives. Now for the negatives. The lid is made of glass, is susceptible to breakage. So you have to handle it with care. Also, you have to make sure that there is water in the lower chamber. Otherwise, the sandwich bottom may get overheated and fall apart. The sandwich bottom, in fact, looks thin and katcha, in contrast to the rest of the product which has a heavy-duty stainless steel look. After the first usage itself, the bottom got discoloured. After a few uses, the insides got discoloured slightly. It does not seem like it is made of stainless steel. We also don't know if the stuff it is made of is safe for steaming veggies. When the gadget is on the flame, the metal parts can get heated up and you have to take care that you don't touch it with your bare hands. Though hollow, the handles do get heated up and can hurt you if you do not take precautions.Make sure you don't touch the gadget when it is hot and also, be careful not to get scalded by the steam coming out. Put off the flame first and then open the lid with baking gloves on your hands -- or protect your hands with a piece of cloth. The handles are attached to the body in what seems like a flimsy way. It looks like the handles could come off at some stage, particularly if you do not handle with care. This remains to be seen. Will update my review accordingly. There is a 24 month manufacturer's warranty, but to avail of it, you have to bear the postal costs of returning the item to the manufacturer and also, the postal cost of having the replacement sent to you. The postage charges may amount to more than the cost of the item itself. So, If something happens -- for instance if the glass lid breaks or the handles come off, you will have to trash the item because it won't be worth your while to follow up with the manufacturer. However, if the handles haven't come off, then, even if the glass lid breaks, you can still use the item as a top-less cooking utensil. If the lid and the handles both break, then you can still use the gadget for growing moong-sprouts. On a lighter note, if the material it is made of is not food-grade, then maybe you will die of food-poisoning -- in which you won't need the item any more.P.S. The photo of the gadget on Amazon.in is of some other model which seems to have two steaming chambers in place of just one. The product that I am reviewing here has only one steamer compartment. It has one container for the water and another steaming compartment

I am pleased to mark 5 stars for Vinod cookware!
Very very useful to me in multiple ways....cooks rice fantastically in 20 minutes used to boil mik in safe and quick manner ... Rice puttu is also very easily done.sometimes used as tea pan too... easily washable compared to hindalium or aluminium wares..sturdy and heavy duty utensil . Handles are desighned in way heat doesn’t affect bare hands.. glass lid too heavy duty and transparent.More useful for bachelors..it’s really worth buying though a little costlier..

I was a great fan of all Vinod utensils
I was a great fan of all Vinod utensils, but utterly disappointed with this product. The steam gets leaked through the sides. Had to keep for double the time to get the food cooked or steamed, and still it was raw. Thoroughly disappointed :(

Good
The container at the bottom is becoming black with every usage, I use it everyday, n the lid broke just like that, all of a sudden without anybody's interference while it was placed to rest, also there's a lot of gap when we cook something there's heat vopour coming out of the sides, n hence consumes more fuel to cook

Quality steel cookware to steam vegetables
Awesome steel cookware. Have used it three times by now and it works well as expected. Steel is of good quality. It’s dishwasher safe too. It’s a very nice and safe cookware to steam vegetables unlike microwaveable plastics.

Useful
Not many items like this are available in shops, so ordered it. It is similar in looks to Ikea products but steel quality not the same. Don't put it in a dishwasher. Is useful though.

Good build quality but smaller in size than expected
Good quality steamer. Lighter than I had expected but seems sturdy and well built. Works well as a steamer. However, the size is smaller than what it appears in the product images. Would have prefered it to be 1 or 2 inches bigger in diameter. But sufficient for cooking for upto 2 people.

Very nice product !
Really like this product ... after 3 months of use, genuine steel and steam starts coming within 20-30 secs of full flame for one inch deep water. Sturdy and happily steams any stuff ... I use it to steam my veggies and am pretty happy so far. All 3 components fit fine

Go for biggest size
The glass of the lid is flimsy . Should use toughened glass like in other Vinod products. Please note the size is somewhat small . OK for single or max 2 persons usage. Another point to note is that the diameter of lid is non standard and lids of other utensils won’t fit.Go for their biggest size .
