Who knew peanut butter cups could be this good?
I’ve always been a fan of Clark bars. Other bars are good, but Clark bars, they’re not. I’ve been anxiously awaiting their return; every so often, I hunt around to check for news of their availability. Last week, I caught an article in a Pittsburgh paper online, saying the company was having a little trouble getting them exactly right. They had the taste and texture, but the shape was all wrong. The next thing is genius - they decided to grind up the mistakes, and put them into peanut butter cups. So of course I had to order a box. They arrived today, and I couldn’t wait to break one open. Long story short, I’m now a huge fan of Clark peanut butter cups. They have the Clark bar taste and crunch; oh, they are just SO good. The other peanut butter cups just won’t do any more.Keep ‘em coming. Thanks for bringing them back!

Great Flavor and Texture
Lately my 101 year old grandmother has been talking about her favorite candy bar, the Clark Bar. I was sad to see that they aren't currently in production, but decide to give these a shot. I can't recall what the original bar tasted like, but these are very good. They are chocolate coated peanut butter cups, with bits of toffee mixed into the peanut butter. I think my grandma will be happy when I bring her some.

Clark’s not the same as the original candy
They aren’t the same as the original Clark’s bar. Not as crunchy. More like a Reese cup.

It's Back!
I haven't had a Clark Bar for eons, and this new iteration is mighty fine. My maiden name was Clark (as is my pen name, Pam Clark) so it wasn't uncommon for someone to tease me with the nickname--Clark Bar. And when I was going to book signings to promote my mystery novel, Shoot If You Must, I handed out these Clark Cups to each person who bought a book. I urge you to try one of these crunchy, peanutty delights.

oh boy(er)
I want to say this was a close attempt but it isn't. I can understand the shape, with tooling being the same as the Mallo-Cup (one of my old favs). But Boyer SHOULD have gotten some of the people from New England Confections to help them reproduce the CLARK bar. My first impression was a Nestle Crunch, then the peanut taste comes along, and the crunch that is not at all like the CLARK crunch that always stuck to your teeth after the crunch. The chocolate is unmistakably Boyer, and reminds you directly of the Mallo-Cup. I still have half a bucket of CLARK JR bite size bars with an expiration date of 10/23/19 that I purchased when I heard NEC was taking a dive, so I have some good "reference" bars, but sorry Boyer, you missed this one. Shipping was smartly done with ice packs in 90 degree heat, so the shipping dept has its head on straight. Sadly, the kitchen folks wont admit they need help with what may be a lost, wonderful recipe.

Clark Cups-Good but nothing like the original Clark Bars
I like Fifth Avenue, Butterfinger, and Zagnut bars, but Clark Bars were the best of the bunch. When the new Clark Bars came out, I was interested. They are good but nothing like the original Clark Bar. With a hint of molasses and smooth peanut butter crunch, they were delightful. I hope Boyer perfects the original recipe for it was a winner of the bunch!

Not sure why I expected better from an off brand.
The cups were not round but various malformed shapes between round and square. The filling cookie was not anywhere near the center of cups, often exposed on top bottom or sides. Overall the the candy gave me the immediate impression of being run on an over speed production line with Lucy and friends handling the production. The flavor was fine, likely wouldn't have been a favorite even if it had been produced uniformly.Felt ripped off when ordering 2 pack of 24 count, and discover its only single 24 count box. That's not a price point I would have knowingly purchased at.
