Nut Failure Before Reaching Torque Spec – Lack of Info on Delphi’s Specifications
I purchased this ball joint for my 2013 VW Jetta but encountered an issue during installation. The service manual specifies that the bottom three nuts should be torqued to 100Nm, but one of the nuts failed before reaching that torque. Perhaps Delphi has a different torque specification, though I couldn’t find any information online. For comparison, I purchased the original ball joint from the VW dealership and had no problem torquing the bottom three bolts to 100Nm.
