Very cool movie at a great price

Excellent movie

This film was not bad. Not Shakespeare, but that wasn't what I was looking for. Great action. The main character is truly intimidating. I would rate this among the better revenge flicks.

Most action movies have a pretty typical flow to them narrative wise (something propels main character on a violent quest and then the rest of the movie is the MC going from point A to B to C to etc.). Avengement does things a bit differently by starting out like pretty much half-to-two thirds the way through his quest, and then after essentially taking some of his enemies hostages and demanding that they call in the person the MC is really after, narrates to his captives who he is and how he got here while they wait. So I appreciate how Avengement kind of breaks from tradition with action movie narratives. As for the fight scenes, they're really good as everyone says, but what makes them stand out for me is how basically feral the MC is in his fights. While he is a boxer, he seems rather undisciplined in his fighting, which I think helps him stand out more. Also, its nice to see that he does get evidently broken, bruised, scarred, etc. in his quest. A lot of action movies typically portray the MC as basically invincible and/or untouchable until like the final confrontation. I guess if I had any criticism, its that I had to turn on the subtitles because I had difficulty understanding what people were saying with their thick UK accents (though that's probably more due to my inferior American ears). Overall, as someone who isn't a huge action movie fan, I really enjoyed this.

The movie is pretty heavy on the "F" bombs but if you get past the senseless profanity and watch it, it is nonstop. It was truly hilarious at the climax. Scott Adkins gave the business and it was unreal. I enjoyed it. I even rewinded when he was giving the business. That scene is unreal and funny because it was totally believable. It was good.

Action-packed, violent, well-acted and feel-good-movie-of-the-year from as far as I can tell, little-known actors from England. I had to use the subtitles because of their ghetto, gangster accents. Brilliant movie!

First time I have ever seen a Scott Adkins film. I don't know what attracted me to watching this film. I was just browsing thru Amazon prime wanting to watch something new. When I saw the nearly 5 star review and had action. Ok I am game to watch it and my God this movie soo awesome. It reminds me the Raid 2 with the Count of Monte Cristo on crack. I can't believe I have never heard of this film. Highly recommended

An explosive and relentlessly intense crime-thriller with loads of edge, style, savage wit and head-bashing fights as well as engaging character work. It feels like Guy Ritchie by way of Resevoir Dog's. Director, Jesse V. Johnson has crafted his best film to date, he gives this film his all and adds great depth and energy. A bloody entertaining action picture with enough tension, twist and turns to fill 88 minutes. It's Adkins and Johnson's best film together so far, they prove to be a spectacular combo. Scott Adkins is electrifying, it's his best and most explosive performance. Adkins transforms himself tremendously into this character and Should be recognized not just as an amazing action star but an amazing actor.

One of the most violent films I've ever seen with an excellent story around it.A first class gangster style film about a man who's been pushed too far.

Die Bild- und Tonqualität repräsentiert den Film tadellos und lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig.Im Gegensatz zu der Schnittfassung:Selten habe ich so offensichtliche Zensureingriffe erlebt wie bei dieser Blu-Ray. Offensichtlich sind dabei gerade die äußerst drastischen Gewaltszenen betroffen, wobei die Auswahl der Momente die entfernt werden mussten scheinbar völlig willkürlich gehandelt wurde.Nicht nur das der Film so oder so ziemlich brutal ist und gerade die meisterhafte finale Kampfszene zum Glück kaum an Effekt verliert, sondern manche der Momente (Stichwort "Randsteinbeißen") kommen in späteren Zusammenschnitten dann doch wieder vor.Und gerade wenn man denkt das es sich bei solchen Momenten wohl um künstlerische Entscheidungen zu handeln hat, hört man einen harten äußerst auffälligen Schnitt in der Musik und den Soundeffekten die einen sofort auf die Zensurkeule aufmerkam macht (gerade in einer Kampfszene im Gefängnis).Außerdem habe ich mich informiert und es ist für den deutschen Markt nur diese Version erhältlich die aber trotz allem ab 18 Jahren freigegeben ist, was natürlich zu Recht die Frage aufwirft warum man als erwachsene Person bei einem Produkt für Erwachsene trotz allem noch bevormunded werden muss.Aber um es noch einmal zu betonen: Der Film ist selbst in dieser Fassung stark und effektiv genug das man trotzdem zuschlagen kann, sollte man aber eine wirklich ungeschnittene Version haben wollen wird es die dann wohl in Großbritannien geben.
