These plates are very pretty and fun as they are each different. I bought 2 sets so I have 2 of each. They can be used for sandwiches or salads, just lovely.

I looked for everyday dinner plates over several months before purchasing 12 of this Santorini pattern. I love the pattern and color, and that the patterns are varied. The plates are very generously sized and the stack of 12 plates requires that I move the shelf above higher since these are taller than the set of 12 I am replacing.I was surprised to find out that the tops of the plates are not flat but they are smooth; they have dips that follow the pattern. This isn’t a problem, it just seems unusual to me.The flaw: I was disappointed that the ring on the bottom of the plates is not smooth or sealed, I can foresee that over time this rough stoneware ring will erode the finish on the top of the plates below when they are stacked. At this price point I expect that ring to be polished and sealed. I plan to make it a point to polish that ring with a Scotch-Brite green scouring pad when I wash these plates until eventually they are all smooth. (Note: The scouring pad is to be used exclusively on the unsealed ring as it is too abrasive for the rest of the plate.)Overall I am happy with my purchase and I hope to enjoy a long chip-free service from these plates.

LOVED them when I received them. I bought them to go with some beautiful handmade white Portuguese dinner plates. They look so lovely and also sturdy. Unfortunately, with some very mild usage over only several months, I am dismayed to find 2 of the eight I purchased have small chips on the edges. Very sad and disappointed. I have some old Dansk plates that have had heavy usage for 15 years with not a chip.
