ASURION 2 Year Mobile Phone Accident Protection Plan worth every penny! It's a must for people who break their phones by dropping it by accident. It took me 4 phones to realize I need to get additional coverage for new phone and I am so glad I did! Phone slipped from my hand and landed on the ground (sidewalk). At first only one horizontal line across the screen appeared but the rest of cracks appeared later on. I filed a claim and got an email with the link to shipping label to be printed, phone packaged and mailed to them via UPS. Simple and easy! Some people complaining about the plan obviously didn't read rules. Most common misconception is the value. When you buy a phone the protection is included up to certain value. If you got lucky and purchased your phone with 50% discount, the insured value will be for the cost you paid AFTER discount! Taxes, shipping and handling as well as cost of the insurance plan ARE NOT COVERED and it makes total sense. ASURION guarantees repair, replacement or refund in form of Amazon credit for the amount paid by you (minus taxes, shipping and plan cost). Not all phones could be repaired. It is what it is! Not all phones could be replaced for the same exact one either because in cell phone business new models and modifications are coming too fast and it's hard to keep up. The rules are also state refurbished phones could be provided for replacements so I am not sure why it's a news for some.

I would recommend this protection for everything. Very easy to purchase, very easy to use if needed. I made a claim, sent in my phone and had a gift card sent hours after sending in my phone. We have Asurion protection plans for a lot of electronics.

UPDATE:Aug 20,2022 Got two emails in two weeks saying they ordered a part and they would send and update in “a few days”. It’s been two weeks since the first one. I’ve tried to contact them via chat and email with no response, chat hasn’t been working. Calling is hopeless as it seems they have gone down hill and everyone is needing to call them at all times of day so the wait time is outrageous! Lowered to one star until they fix this issue, then it will possibly go to 3-4 stars. Originally left a 4 star review due to past experiences, no so anymore. I’d just like them to send a gift card and be done with it, if even be willing to buy a new warranty to give them another chance as previous experience has been great. I personally like how this works. You do not have to wait for your phone to be repaired or for the company to decide whether or not it’s worth just replacing. If something happens to the phone, even if it’s your fault because you dropped it, they will send an Amazon credit for the amount paid. Sometimes it actually works in our favor too. This is the second phone my son has dropped and broken. Thankfully we purchased this coverage and we were able to get a new one. The price has actually dropped a lot so he was able to upgrade from an iPhone 7 to and 8 with double the storage. Last time it was the opposite, he had to pay $40 more plus new coverage. I wouldn’t purchase a phone or any tech without these guys! We have coverage for my sons phone, my Fit Bit, a nice book bag and a few other things. I highly recommend this coverage for people who drop stuff a lot like my boy and I do or anyone who just wants some extra peace of mind for a decent price. To file a claim I just followed the few steps online as prompted, printed a mailing label, wrapped it up, boxed it and dropped it off at UPS. We had a credit by the next morning! I thought it’d take a few days but as soon as it was on the way we got out credit. Again…THIS IS NOT A REPAIR/REPLACEMENT WARRANTY!!! They send you an Amazon gift card credit for the price you paid for the item, there’s no money back or repairs. I personally have no problem with that but I know some people do, so be forewarned. I do wish that we would be able to use the credit on other websites sometimes. We found the same iPhone 8 on another site for about $50 less with a 2 year warranty, not including accidents. Other than that it’s a great deal for us, it has probably saved us a thousand bucks or more over the past several years.

I don’t usually buy insurance or extended warranties for products. I did this time because my son is hard on cell phones - accidentally dropping them and in this case dropping into water. I was pleased with the ease with which my claim was handled. I got an Amazon credit for the full cost of the phone ( minus tax) and was able to order a new phone the same day. So he was only without a phone for one day. The service agent was efficient and friendly. Made a potentially difficult situation I into a positive.
