Slightly pricey but worth it. I've have used quite a few disposable or cheap snap knives and found them all very meh. While the American Line knife is larger and bulkier than cheap knives, it feels very good to hold, control and use for long and tedious projects. Convenient to have a build in storage for extra blades. Overall I feel it's a worth while investment to have a good knife and just buy replacement blades in bulk instead of buying cheap pain to use disposable snap knives.

Our installation crews use these knives every day and these knives have worked great over the years. We have to buy more when our guys lose or damage them or someone new gets hired but other than that, they can be used over and over by just changing out the blades. We will continue to purchase these going forward.

I've been using this knife for at least 20 years on a daily basis. It is indeed my favorite utility knife. I use Lutz® 18mm 8-Point Perforated Carbon Steel Snap-Off Blades available in various quantities. I buy 100 per box.

This knife fits easily in the hand and offers a secure grip. Convenience of breaking off blades as they dull or having an adjustable amount of blade to cut thick foam is a plus.

Better tool then what I have

Get good blades. The cheap ones rust even when oiled!Super nice compared to many others. Strong, safe (within reason), and durable.Dont use dull blades anywhere. Most horrible cuts are from dull blades.Good for carpeting, masking for painting, cuts through rubber with ease.However, it wont cut glass...

I use a retractable knife daily in my job, and I need one that is comfortable to use, durable, and easy to open and close with one hand. There are lots of knives out there with a similar design, and I've tried a lot of them over the years. I forget where I bought the first one like this, but It's been the best one I've had my hands on. It's light and slim, has nice rubberized edges, and the mechanism works flawlessly - other knives don't always hold the blade well, or they don't lock well, etc. This one does. You wouldn't think that something as simple and inexpensive as a box-cutting knife was a big deal, but when you've got one that slips easily in and out of your pocket, opens effortlessly, does the job and goes back in your pocket without any aggravation - you've got a real winner!

I've had too many "cheap" knives. Even with good blades, they are crappy handles.This one, on the other hand, is a good, solid handle. Well build, comfortable, easy to use.The blades that came with it are decent, too. A world above those dollar store blades.If you have a use for a knife like this... treat yourself. Feel the difference between what you've been putting up with, and what you can do with a good tool.

I have tried various knives, but this one is the BOSS!!!I has 2 spare blaides inside.Solid and rigid body.I recomend to anyone, and will buy in a future if I nee more

Unbelievably good knife, though considering the quality of Personna razors, I'm not surprised. I use it with a sharpener and cut foam matting for costume making.
