Rich In-depth Work!
As a NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Psychoanalyst (private practice for over 25 years), I have found this volume replete with rich essays on my favorite earlier authors who have contributed in the main to my thinking. I have been remiss in more recent years to read contemporary works and found that Dr. Ogden has only gotten more creative. I was his follower in the early 80's.I recommend this volume to older and new students interested in a depth oriented psychodynamic approach to life's issues.Beautiful and brilliant!

I highly recommend this book
As a Winicottian psychoanalyst, I found this book to be a clearly summarized view of many theories, many of which are very dense reading. Thomas Ogden has again written a book that will be read and known for many decades to come. I highly recommend this book.

this is my second most liked book by TH Ogden, after "the primitive edge". Above all I like the readings about Loewald, Fairbairn and Winnicott. A nice Appetizer to delf into the orignal work of the mentioned authors. Thank you Mr. Ogden!
