In an ever-changing world, good manners never go out of style. Good manners arenโt just a quaint and old-fashioned concept. Theyโre an essential aspect of every young ladyโs path to adulthood. Itโs safe to say that todayโs young woman is exposed to more opportunities than any generation of women in history, and these essential guidelines will help parents ensure that their daughters grow up to succeed in any situation. Topics covered in 50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know include: Making conversation with adults Accepting a gift you don't like Dressing appropriately Winning and losing graciously Writing a thank-you note While the formal rules of etiquette are not taught the way they once were, 50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know provides a modern take on the ageless idea that girls should know appropriate and courteous responses to any given situation. This updated guide to traditional standards of behavior proves that manners never go out of style โ theyโre an essential skillset that a young girl needs to excel in whatever she chooses to do. Review: Excellent and engaging tool for teenage girls! - Excellent tool! I bought this book for my 13 year old niece, who is kinda tomboyish, because I thought it amply covered the information I wanted her to learn and, hopefully, practise the related behaviours. The ultimate test for me, however, was to be whether she was influenced in any which way by this book. Well! My niece found the book so captivating that she has read it at least three (3) times! And, she is so engaged that she is practising the behaviour and uses this book as her daily reference source! Review: Fantastic help for teaching good manners - Each of the 50 selections have been a great addition to our instruction on good manners in our home. We take one a week. On Monday we read a section and try to focus and follow up/practice it throughout the week. The writing is very enjoyable and makes it a light fun discussion rather then a symposium on good manners. We like how after each brief introduction of the manner it follows up with do's and dont's. The only gripe I have is chapter 9 on accepting an apology. It states under YOU DO: say "that's okay" when someone apologizes to you. The author actually follows up with "you don't have to immediately give them a hug"...so the author does address that feelings may continue to heal after the apology, but I think the appropriate DO is to say "thank you for the apology" or "I appreciate your apology" not "that's okay". I guess I come from the outlook that sometimes people intentionally hurt someone, and it's not "okay", but an apology sure helps to repair the wrong...but it still isn't "okay" when a child intentionally hit another child, or stole something from the class prize box, or a teen spreads a gossiping lie, or a texting driver just severely injured a family member. Other then that one minor issue this is fantastic and an easy way to help girls to improve on manners.

Great book for a tween!
I bought this book for my daughter after threatening to send her to charm school for the summer. We practice good etiquette at home and I have always tried to reinforce it; however, I couldn't seem to get through to my daughter. She is 10 almost 11. This book changed things. As she read, I required her to write a summary of each of the small chapters and an example. Now, she is complimented everywhere we go on her manners. They have improved dramatically at home. She has a better awareness of why etiquette rules are what they are, and what the social norms are for a given situation.

Just What They Need to Know
I liked this book. Although I didn't read it all because I bought it for my daughter, she liked it as well. I think most everything that you would teach your daughter on how to be a young lady, is put in this book. And this serves as a reminder that this is the way a lady conducts herself, not that its just "mother telling me what to do". The only thing I didn't like is that the size of the book was a little narrow. But other than that I liked it, and plan to finish reading it myself.

LOVE: Uniquely Classy & Timeless Pearls of Wisdom!
This book is not just adorable, but contains pearls of life wisdom that would do any lady some good to be refreshed on! My favorite thing about this book is how it gives various real-life scenarios, and breaks down โproperโ responses. Itโs incredibly insightful, offers guidance and information in unique ways, and isnโt just a โread one pageโ and get bored type of book. Youโll be turning the pages to see whatโs next! I absolutely recommend this book to ladies of all ages, as this book is classy and timeless.

LOVE IT!
This is the second etiquette book I have gotten. I love how simple and clearly it is written. It is done in a way that everyone understands, even my seven year old can read it (with a little help here and there), but it is not so dumbed down that you don't want to read it! I would highly recommend this book to anyone with kids (even boys). Having Good Manners is a must and too many these days do not even know what manners are :(

My daughter said she feels like this book is helping her to become a better person.
Purchased this for my 10 year old daughter and she really enjoys it. I just asked her what she likes best about it and she said โI like it because I feel like I am turning into a better person and it shows me areas that I needed to work onโ. I swear I have told her a lot of these things myself but reading it has reiterated it and enables her to see the importance of manners as a young woman. She has also been praised on her manner at the last few adult functions she has been at! Think itโs working
