Russian/Lithuanian watch?! Crazy, right? Not Really.This piece is much better in person than depicted on the net. I am impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I think Vostok is a serious player in the crowded watchmaker world. I was worried about the size and wgt. Did'nt want to wear a hockey puck on my wrist. But both wgt. and size are perfect for my taste. Good Japanese quartz movement, and the stand up tritium tubes do out shine my Lumenox Attacama even tho both are T25. On the negative side, I expected a synthetic rubber band, but got two leather bands instead. (no big deal). This watch would be perfect if it was rated T100, had a sapphire crystal, and maybe a loud alarm, but to be fair, my Casio MT-G, would be perfect if it had tritium T100, or ANY tritium at all. Armourlite at T100 have very bright pieces that are durable but there is something attractive about steel cases of Vostok. The unique stand up tubes on this watch, even tho still rated T25, was the deal breaker for me and I was not disappointed.

I am a fan of large watches, and this is one very cool dive watch!! It's large at a 49mm case diameter, and it "wears" large because of the design of the dial and the relatively thin bezel. I have only worn it on the silicon strap, which is very comfortable. The leather strap that comes with it looks like it's of high quality. The black finish on the case is essentially a matte finish, and this watch shows your watch's number out of 3000 on the 9:00 side of the case. I love the look of the dial with the 3 green sub-dials, which are luminous. The tritium tubes are uniquely set vertically into the hour marker positions. I like the automatic helium release valve. I have no doubt this watch can handle 300m of water pressure -- but in a true dive watch, normally you'd use an automatic movement. This Miyota quartz movement is supposed to have a 4 year battery life though. All in all, this watch is great looking, very comfortable, with great luminosity. I am very happy with it!!
