Wayne62064-WYN1 Pump Certified Service Part, Black

Everything worked great, limited instructions so watched a wayne pump repair video.... used to using a foot pound torque wrench and the video uses inch pounds..... let's just say 240 "pounds" on the torque wrench is not attainable for the 4 bolts... luckily I only broke one. Was able to save it in the end and pump works great again! Needed seal kit because of a faulty pressure switch, ran almost a week when we were on vacation with all valves turned off! By the way, holding the shaft in the back to get the old seal /diffuser off requires a stout flat blade screw driver and plenty of room behind the pump to hold the shaft with said screw driver. My situation required me to remove the pump and repair on a table.... was hoping I could have repaired in place... no such luck!

Disassembly of a pump several years old will include fighting the rust. I would reccommend taking the pump apart first, to see if you can get the screws and other parts off without stripping or breaking. If that can be done, then order your repair kit. My pump had run for 4-5 years on well water. I also have to drain mine during the winter. After disassembly I chipped all the loose rust from the housing. Read the instructions. Carefully cleaned everything and reassembled. Don't go overboard when tightening the fasteners. I filled the pump and kept a continuous stream of water in it as I first turned it on. It has run flawlessly everyday for 2 months now. I would buy again.

The parts are perfect fit and packaged appropriately. I'd give Wayne Pumps 5 stars if I didn't have to repair the pump as often (about every 4 years)!

I'd return this if the timeout were not so short. I just got to fit this part it lasted about 10 mins before it seized up. And pump was fully primed. I have had several of these pumps over the years and the impellers have not failed now they appear to last minutes. Very disappointed as otherwise this is a good pump. I use it for irrigation system.
