This item is easily confused with GE HHRING O-Ring that fits the GE GXWH40L filter cartridge. Be sure you are ordering the one you need.

My major dislike is the cost and the fact they imply it an American product, when in fact is clearly states on the package it is made in China

The ring works fine, absolutely zero problem with that. However, if you go to the 2 pack where you think you're essentially getting two for the price of one, you're not. You're getting 3" rings! What's worse- you order the 6 pack they suggest like you're getting 6 of the item you searched and again- not the 6" diameter. So be very careful if you're ordering more than one and go down to the dimensions before adding to cart. Now we're stuck with 6 useless o rings and having to wait for the right one to come in. Yes, technically my fault but I don't know how many other people would assume buying a 2 pack or suggested 6 pack would be like "I should check in case this is a different size." So here's your warning and the seller needs to not include that two pack or very specifically mention it in the description.

First of all.... Grease that o ring and the grooves of the housing. Use all the enclosed grease as needed. The grease will repel the water. The o ring will expand to a diameter that will not stay in housing grooves IF,,,, not enough grease, orrrrr, if you HULK OUT on tightening the housing and crush the o ring. The o ring will stop the leaks if you just snug the canister when tightening. IF it is leaking.... remove pressure and loosen cannister slightly and retighten. IF YOU ,,,, Tighten with wrench,,, get your big boy pants on and get ready to hulk out to get it off at end of filter life. This is when I find the gasket is done and will not be reusable if over compressed. I change every 3 months and have a sediment filter in line to pre filter before the main filter. Really hard well water in Ohio. I can usually reuse the o ring 4 to 5 times. At first, years ago, I would only be able to reuse o ring 1 or 2 reuses. DON'T HULK OUT when tightening,,,, or you can ignore my advice and breakout your big boy pants on and bust a move Dude... housing or the wrench can break.... You Can Do Sparky!!! Russ D.

The package has two O-Rings but they are for two different units. I expected that since there were two gaskets that they would be the same. They are not!! So in essence you are buying two O-Rings for two different units but can only use one unless you own the two different models, which I do not.

Purchased for a GXWH40L home water filter, not a sink filter as stated.So O-rings were too small. My fault.Shipped fast, quality good, with free O ring grease a plus, so I gave product 5 stars and my reading ability 0

The O-rings I purchased were exactly what I needed since the existing O-ring had been stretched so it would not fit properly. The lubricant with the O-ring was able to hold the ring in place while screwed the filter housing back into place.
