IVANKO (OM-5) Cast-Iron, Machined Olympic Plate Grey 5 lbs (PAIR)

Exactly the kind of quality you’d expect from Ivanko - excellent.

Yes these are Ivanko OM series plates with machined backs and rims. They’re also nicely painted with the new standard silver-greenish paint. The pair I ordered had slightly smaller diameter holes than the rest of my Ivanko OM plates. They still fit on my Ivanko barbells but were a bit tighter than any of the others. I’m guessing Chinese made Ivanko plates are manufactured in several plants and tolerances vary. The front sides of these plates are sand cast and seem very rough compared to my others but the heavy paint masks the rough surfaces somewhat. Ultimately these are cosmetic issues and gravity doesn’t care. Given the cost of these plates w shipping and having older plates I can use for comparison, I DO care. I have heard other lifters online say they are selling off their Ivanko plates and buying Rogue iron plates. Have never seen the Rogue product close up so I can’t comment on the quality. Vendor service was excellent, plates were packed well and shipped promptly. No damage or paint chips.

Functionally, nearly perfect. These Ivanko OM plates are very close to claimed weight and fit tightly on my American Barbell and Rogue bars. They handle well and the paint seems decent. Aesthetically flawed. They might have a lot of sloppy foundry putty work on the hollow unmachined face of the plate. The plates I have bought from other companies don't have such obvious cosmetic defects. I might buy more.
