First of all, people need to understand: When ordering binoculars online, especially ones in this range, you are taking the chance you will get a bad pair. Between the factory and the shipping to your door, there's a chance the pair you get WILL BE OUT OF COLLIMATION. This means you will see double and never get a merged focused image. In other words, they'll be useless. If you read through reviews that's the main complaint people have and they conclude the binoculars "just suck". However, it seems the number of bad are outweighed by the number of good ones people received. And Amazon is really good at returns and exchanges, so you really just stand to lose time and convenience having to make the return if they are out of collimation. Having said that... Since my main use is for stargazing I already had gotten the 15x70 SkyMaster, which is also an excellent pair for the price. But because of their size, for hand-held use they can be difficult to use. I can manage pretty well, but my wife definitely had a harder time, so I took a chance with these. Having taken the collimation gamble with the SkyMasters and being a pessimist, I wasn't expecting my luck to be good twice in a row. But these also arrived in collimation and focused just fine. After the relief of that, the second thing I noticed was how much easier they were to hold, and therefore, how much better and stable the image was. Using them at night was just as easy. Between their size and lower magnification I was able to focus in on objects a lot easier than with the SkyMasters. My wife also found them MUCH easier to use. The image is not as close or as bright, but for hand held use the stability of the smaller one wins. However, even though I could see Jupiter and it's moons 'good' with these 10x50's for a longer time, I still switched to the 15x70's for a 'better' but shorter view. That wouldn't be an issue with a good sturdy tripod though and the bigger one would win ~hands down~ (see what I did there?). Like the Skymasters, these came with a thin flimsy soft case, a cheap neckstrap, lens caps, and a tiny microfiber cloth. Unlike the Skymasters, it didn't come with a tripod adapter, which isn't a big deal since most will use them hand-held and the tripod adapter the Skymaster did come with really sucks anyway. It appears to be a well-built pair of binoculars, but that's not saying anything if a good enough bump knocks them out of collimation. Taking that into account, I ditched the flimsy carrying bags for both pairs of binoculars and put them in "Plano Protector Four Pistol" cases. Overkill maybe, but made me feel better. Overall, for $20-30 binoculars, these are really good.

These are very good binoculars that are low in cost, but not low in quality. I've bought many celestron products in the past and celestron provided high quality views in telescopes and binoculars. They are of course manufacturered in china but most mass produced products are. They have great quality! There is only 1 issue I can think of and it's that the alignment knobb tends to get unaligned so it needs to be adjusted often. It's a little con but not much to deter my rating. As long as you don't move that knobb it should be ok. The glass on these binoculars are good they have bak 7 glass. Which means you will see some purple fringes but not much to make it super cheap. I also used the celestron Calvary series and those have bak 4 prisms. Those have higher quality than these, but at a more expense price of 80$ and up! So these are just as good! There great for putting in your car and taking it on the road for trips and sightseeing of birds, or whale watching at the sea, or even in high mountain areas! Overall they provide great celestron quality!

These are not high end binoculars. The strap and case are cheesy, the front caps fall off and the rear caps are hard to put on. The first time I replaced the rear lens caps I was surprised when the eyepieces moved. The arm that supports them is plastic. The eye relief is not all that great, so when wearing glasses you can't quite see the full field of view even with the eye cups folded down. However, for my purpose they are fine. I have a nice pair of 7x35 binoculars, but I wanted something with larger objective lenses for star gazing. These are great for that. Collimation of mine is spot on and the image is sharp and clear. There is a noticeable improvement in brightness and detail over my other pair. The rubbery covering feels good, and they don't weigh much more than my 7x35. Focusing is nice and smooth. Instead of the case and caps, I keep them in a plastic bag on a shelf. Not fancy, but functional. The strap I can live with. With care, I believe they will last a long time. And, if I drop them, it's not the end of the world. That's nice when you're fumbling around in the dark. I can see why some folks receive damaged binoculars. The manufacturer's box is not designed for shipping. There is just a thin strip of foam in the bottom. Amazon puts it in a larger box with some air bladders to fill up the space. There is no padding around the inner box. So, if it gets tossed around, like many packages do, the binoculars take the full brunt of it. Delicate optical instruments should have foam cushion all around.

For the price, these are almost unbeatable. I have a 16" Dobsonian and my little sister wanted to create an astronomy club at her school. Her first few meetings went alright but it seems that there are always a few kids getting bored while waiting to use the telescope so I got the idea that I'll buy some cheap binoculars, and some star charts so they can be finding stuff with the binoculars and then point the telescope to what they find. Long story short, I ordered 3 pairs of these and I am impressed. Are they perfect? No. However, for the price, they are magnificent. I did pay $5 more for some Tasco that I like better. No matter, these work very well. They aren't too heavy, the optics seemed great. All of that praise being said, I would recommend being careful with them, they aren't made of the best material but are made well enough that if you cautious than they should last (don't throw them on the ground but set). If you're looking for the most bang for your buck, I suggest these.

I've been eyeing binoculars lately to replace my 20 year old Japanese 10x25s, and was considering 8x40s from Nikon and Olympus. I live in Australia however, and everything is double the price here. Anyhow, I needed to first define what I would use it for: and my first priority is for starspotting. After that, it will likely be used on holidays and vacations, or general planespotting from my backyard. As a result, I need a general pair of binoculars, without it necessarily being rugged, or having waterproofing, but with decent optics. This pair caught my eye solely on its pricepoint. The 10x magnification would let me enjoy close up views with manageable shakiness, and the 50mm aperture would let in many more stops of light. So upon receiving it and playing with it for 2 days these are my observations: - the optics are amazing for the price you pay: VERY bright image and amazing clarity! The focus ring is wide enough and gets a good fix for subjects at infinity (stars) and 3 km away. The objective lenses are well collimated and the depth of field that the two scopes provide is really enjoyable. The right eye diopter also holds its setting and makes the image very bright and clear - Speaking about stars, I am travelling in Bangkok now, and through the light polluted sky downtown, I can see many more stars in the sky next to the bright lights on top of buildings. Even saw a bird flying in the night sky high above the buildings, the aperture is *that* good in letting in the light. Having said that, the artificial light sources do tend to cause some flaring within the barrels/prisms. But it doesn't obscure the stars in the centre of focus anyway. - Looking up at the tall buildings and fancy hotels, I notice some significant pin cushion effect of the straight vertical lines. This doesn't bother me because the image clarity is amazing, and this is a pair of binoculars, not a camera! - I wear eyeglasses, and have astigmatism. The eyecups are a rigid sort of rubber so it stays inverted firmly when I turn them out. The lesser field of view caused by my glasses doesn't bother me. My focus is ultimately in the centre of frame when using the binoculars. - The construction is solid, but it won't win a beauty contest for finishing. The body and grip is all rubberized and feels good to grip and hold. But the finishing is a 7/10 - not fancy nikon or olympus level attention to detail in the lines along the bodies. Also when looking through the barrel from the objective lenses, you can tell that the Celestron is built more cheaply in how the light passes through. The mounting screw-hole and thread is also cheaply finished - this is probably my biggest concern, as I don't want to strip the thread when mounting it. Also, be careful where and how you use it as Celestron does not claim to make it (nor is it) condensation-proof and waterproof. - One lens cap keeps falling off from the objective lens. - Compared to my uncle's Bushnell 16x50, my Celestron is amazing. The magnification is just a little less on the Celestron, but image is so much clearer and brighter. Sure the Bushnell is more rugged and heavier, BUT - the Bushnell has an awful focusing mechanism with limited focus throw. Both the Bushnell's focuser and diopter tend to lose focus very easily. Also the hand-jitter on the Bushnell is not as manageable as on the Celestron. - Compared to my uncle's 10x40 monocular, the Celestron 50mm lets in more light and has better clarity. But the monocular is better built and more rugged. So all in all: For the pricepoint at $29, and for my needs - I love this pair of binoculars! The image quality and usability makes it excellent value for money. If you need better construction, Nitrogen sealed condensation resistance, and need undistorted perfect images, then raise your budget five fold (10 fold in Australia) and buy a nikon, olympus or pentax.

I've had the "10x50 Porro" UpClose G2 model since 2015, and have taken it with me on a couple outdoor trips per year in that time. The various knobs and hinges operate smoothly, striking a nice balance between ease-of-adjustment and feeling as though they will not readily slip out of adjustment. The field of view is good and brightness is decent, though detail of course will fall in dimmer conditions. The storage pouch can be carried readily. I have had issues with the pair: - The storage pouch is minimally padded, so be wary of storing it in places where it will be jostled. Whenever traveling, I keep the pouch inside the cardboard box it was shipped in. - The strap on the binoculars themselves (separate from the one on the pouch) is quite thin (5/16" or 9 mm) and uncomfortable if resting on your skin. - Even when new, the lens covers for the objective (large) lenses would not hold. They readily fall off right after being placed on the pair, and might as well not exist. The lens covers for the eyepieces are made of a hard plastic that do not have this issue, though one of my covers has obtained an insignificant crack. - I have never been able to obtain strong focus with this pair. No matter how I tweak the adjustments, there is always a faint sense of blurriness that I have not experienced with other binoculars I own. This is not a major issue for me, but is important to know if your use case involves maximizing clarity/detail. - Most significantly, the attachment between the eyepieces and body is surprisingly flimsy. Despite gentle use (either hanging around my neck or sitting on a surface waiting to be picked up), after 5 years or so it only somewhat continues to function. Adjusting the primary focus always causes the eyepieces to get stuck or bend out of alignment, and the same can happen if the eyepieces experience any pressure. What this means is that these require additional tweaking after this adjustment to work acceptably, and the final image quality is never as good as it was when new. These remain my go-to pair for casual use. If you want a broader field of view at a respectable zoom level, these are a decent choice. They would not be ideal for use cases involving lots of motion (these are relatively heavy/large and easily damaged) or where detail is more important than a larger field of view.

After a long hiatus I have recently rekindled my interest in astronomy. I purchased these binoculars with an Amazon gift certificate given to me for Christmas by my best and most dearest friend. Thanks again Joyce!!! These binoculars cost me $32.33 shipping included. $32.33? These are a great bargain!!! They are well made and I have not been able to detect any flaws in workmanship. Everything that I have observed with these has come in crystal clear. Birds,aircraft,distant structures,and the night sky were all seen in detail. Just gazing into the night sky with these babies allows you to see stars and constellations that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Of course at this price these are made in China. Pretty much everything that is on or at my desk is made in China (except me!) For $32.33 you cannot go wrong. If you are looking for a pair of binoculars that you can utilize for just about any outdoors activity then order a pair of these. Over the course of my life I have owned many binoculars. These are just has good as other binoculars that I have owned that cost over ten times as much! Celestron's lifetime warranty cannot be beat. Just remember to print out your Amazon purchase order and keep it in a safe place. You will need it if you want Celestron to fulfill their warranty should the need arise. To all of my fellow amateur astronomers out there.....KEEP LOOKING UP!!!!!!!!!

They're great, if you get a collimated pair. I did not. I returned them and ordered the 7x50 and THOSE arrived collimated so I have working binoculars from celestron but as others are saying, yes, it absolutely is a coin flip. If you get a bad pair, return them, amazon is chill about it. You need to google how to set up a pair of binoculars... I will attempt to give you the short version here for your benefit: This thing has two adjustors. The middle one that you know about with binoculars, even toys have this. And an additional one on the eye piece. Close your right eye, adjust until the image is clear. Close your left eye, use the adjustor on the right eye piece to do the same. Now you should have a clear picture. If you are looking down these binoculars and you can't see the same image with both eyes (close the left, open it, close the right... did the thing you were looking at show up in the same place in both eyes? No, they're bad), they are not collimated and you really can't fix this without a LOT of money and a pro available. Your best option is genuinely return them. If you get a pair that works, be gentle with them... they are a budget option. I did not get a working pair from these, but I did with the 7x50 model. If you choose to gamble (that's what celestron is) you know how now. if you don't want to gamble, buy a much higher end model. If you have a car, each spin of the wheel is basically free. Order, return, rinse repeat... if you don't have a car you now have an expense each time you spin that wheel. I got a working pair on order 2. I'm writing this review not so much to review the product but the purchasing experience. This is terrible. I'd rather every one cost 10$ more and I could rely on getting a working product, but that's just me. They are bulky, they have rubberized grips that feel nice. If you only know toy nocs... this will feel like what you'd expect an adult noc would feel like, but they are still very low end on the quality scale. You are buying an entry level product, and this review serves to educate you on the issues with this approach. Keep spinning the wheel and you'll get a pair that works and yes you will be happy.

Firstly let me start by saying i am pleasantly surprised. the image is bright and sharp with hardly any haze on the outer edges. i bought these for star gazing and will try them out tonight, however on testing it on an overcast frosty morning, i could clearly see detail in the trees on the furthest visible tree tops and noticed more birds than i ever new were actually out and about. the icy rooftops looked incredibly detailed and i must say i am blown away. i did not expect this level of clarity for the money. the furthest visible leafless tree tops had a very slight green fringe coming off the wood, however i cant be sure if its moss of a slight bit of aberration, it was so faint i doubt it would put off any bird watcher. i will give further feedback once i have been out star gazing to confirm if this is evident. build quality is more than expectable and much lighter than i thought they would be, but still has a good weight. the strap, carry case and lens caps are basic but one comes to expect it for the money, in no way does it effect its performance. i will more than likely invest in a better strap and tripod adaptor. it does look like the lens caps can be easily lost so take care. all and all i will use these for many years to come and doubt i would need another pair to replace these i give it 5 stars as i feel it is exceptional value for money at this price range with a nice crisp image Update.. have taken it out star gazing and could not be happier with my purchase, the orion constellation showed many hidden objects with the famous nebula as a fuzzy patch. jupiter looked like a big star and i could clearly see 3 of its moons. love it and can only highly recommend it. best value and performance in this price range

I’ve been using a pair of $20 binoculars before I found this pair at AU$50 preowned. The step up in quality is instantly noticeable. It is virtually indistinguishable from brand-new. Really good buy.

Era da tempo che cercavo un binocolo non professionale (per contenere il costo) dalle buone prestazioni e sufficientemente solido e robusto da poter essere usato tranquillamente durante uscite all'aperto. Dopo aver preso in considerazione prodotti non di marca ed economici presso un negozio dove abito, prodotti tutti scartati per la sensazione di aver a che fare con nient'altro che giocattoli, ho comprato questo binocolo Celestron, il modello 71256 UpClose G2. Che abisso rispetto ai binocoli che avevo visto! La sensazione di avere in mano un prodotto di qualità superiore è netta. Non solo il binocolo è ottimamente costruito (è rivestito con uno strato di plastica (presumo) molto piacevole al tatto) ma anche l'ottica è di qualità. Il peso, non eccessivo, restituisce immediatamente la sensazione di avere tra le mani uno strumento solido e ben fatto. La capacità di ingrandimento è notevole, la distorsione (non so se si dice così - non sono un esperto del settore) delle immagini è molto contenuta, la messa a fuoco perfetta. Provato anche al crepuscolo, la luminosità delle ottiche è notevole. Insomma, sono veramente soddisfatto di questo acquisto e lo consiglio decisamente.
