Not what i expected
The snaps are great, but the fabric is super plasticky. It for sure works but my clients dislike it and say its quite uncomfortable.

Fantastic Barber Cape
This is the second one Iβve had. The first lasted 10 years and washed 100βs off times. This one is exactly the same and I got the red and white stripes. Best cutting cloth ever!!! ππ

and not nearly as often as I did at the barber shop so I haven't tested its durability like I would if I were still in a shop
I have been a barber for 15+ years and had plenty of capes in that time. After an explosion at my family's barber shop, I lost all my stuff and so went on the hunt for new capes and things. I just cut hair at my house now, and not nearly as often as I did at the barber shop so I haven't tested its durability like I would if I were still in a shop. But, as someone who's had my share of these things, I can say that it works just fine. The design is classic (some designs are obnoxious), the snaps close well and seem to fit a variety of neck sizes and the coverage is great in the front and back (a barber cape should come down farther in the back than a color cape or some types of stylist capes. The hair doesn't slip off as well as some capes, but that has seemed to be the case in many of the ones I've owned. If it's breathable, then it seems to hold on to the hair more. If it's slick enough for the hair to slide off, it makes people sweat.

Great value cape, neck snaps, washable fabric
This cape sure did the trick. It fits well, has adjustable neck snaps, and the seersucker fabric does not get hot while wearing and the hair quickly falls off while shaking outside. It washes well and is a welcome addition for giving home haircuts. I would recommend this and buy another when needed.Update: 2/4/2015 I have used this cape exactly 27 times in two years and that is how many times it was washed on Permanent Press cycle in cold water. It is wearing and little holes can be seen in spots. The snaps are still strong and work well for a tight fit. However, I paid LESS than half of the current $24.99 selling price for this black cape. Maybe when I am ready to replace it the price will be back to what it is worth (or that of the other colors which are reasonably priced for the product. I do like the cape and the seersucker material is great, just not very strong. I don't have a problem with the coverage in the back. I cut my own hair and it covers me pretty well.

Good Price, long lasting
I bought this for full price of $11.85 in March of 2014 and have never accepted discounted products. My rating criteria is as follows. If the product works as is advertised and the quality is in line with the price then I give it five stars tentatively, then deduct stars for usability problems, functionality problems, flaws, quality, etc.I gave this five stars because it works for me perfectly. We've used it regularly ever since we got it and it continues to be durable and work well. The snap closure has never failed and it is adjustable enough to span ages from 12 year old to adult. We've not uncovered any flaws. The cape does open in the back below the shoulder blades, but this has not been a significant problem for me. In fact, I never thought about it until reading these reviews. For its price, I think the cape if great.

Works exactly like it should.
So I'm kind of a cheap skate and rather than pay a barber to cut my hair every two or three weeks, my wife has been cutting my hair for me with quite comparable results at a very steep discount. However, my only real complaint was that her not actually owning a salon, she was not very well equipped, and as such we ended up using old towels to keep my clippings off me. This worked, but was not real convenient. Enter the Betty Dain Classic Stripe Barber Cutting Cape. I guess I'm not real sure what separates the great capes from the inferior capes in the high stakes world of barbers and beauticians, but in my admittedly uninformed opinion this cape does everything it's supposed to do. It remains solidly snapped around my neck and keeps my hair off of me. If this is all you require in a barber cape, then I highly recommend this one.

Exactly what I wanted
Great quality. As good or better than the ones used at the local salon. Very happy with the purchase

The Family is very happy!
I left the business & only cut hair etc. for family. In the summer when I can cut hair outside this cape is so much better than my plastic made cape. They were so uncomfortable. Now my family is very happy with my new cape! LOL

Great cape, for home use at least, nice deal
Very good quality cape. Feels more solid, and thicker than cheaper ones, but still at a good price. We tried cheaper ones before and they failed quickly. This one feels like it will hold for a good while. We used it for me and my kids (my wife cuts our hair) and we are satisfied. For the price, and home use, you can hardly beat this.

Just not good enough.
This thing so short it barely covers pass the knees on clients and the end up with hair on their shoes and pant legs. The neck buttons aren't as versatile because a lot of adult clients necks are slender, never-mind not suitable for young kids unless tied in a bulky double knot. Texture and strength are perfect but the size makes this not worth it.

Love this cape!
Never had one before and now that I have it can't live without it. The back of the cape is not full length so I use it on a kitchen chair so the cape goes over the kitchen chair and the hair then slides down onto the floor. Seems very durable for the amount of hair cutting I do. Great deal for the price I paid. Very happy.

Works well
Fit around my husband and kept the hair off of him. Hair brushed off of this easily. It does feel cheap, especially around the button area and will most likely rip eventually. But for the price I'm satisfied and will just replace it when the time comes.

Hair sticks to the cape
I don't know if there is a trick to make these capes 'work' but the hair sticks to it so much. I cut my husband's hair and I've tried cutting his hair dry & wet but either way the hair does not slide off this cape very well.
